Hi as driving the car changed gear and car got stuck in neutral, going into gears but no movement can this be clutch /gearbox or what... There was no signs that clutch is on its way out which is strange

Many years ago whilst I was still a student, my brother against my advice bought a car from a lawyer, the lawyer was spouting so much bullshit, I could smell it. Anyway as we drove off into the sunset the car refuse to change gears. We discovered that the gear linkage bolt was there but not the nut. I am not sure about the terminology. My brother spent quite a bit fixing that car.
