Open-access fibre network operator price comparison

Don't understand a price war, when only 1/20 of possible subscribers have access to fiber ... , but yeah ... , so it goes ...

MetroFibre offers the cheapest fibre-to-the-home packages
This comparison confirms MetroFibre’s claims that these changes would make it one of the most competitive fibre operators in the market.
LOL, and you asked me why I thought you are being biased against Herotel. Now looks like you're hand picking who to compare with.
From your Herotel article:
Laying claim to offering the best or cheapest fibre prices is a fraught exercise.
Establishing who offers the lowest prices in such a diverse market without overlooking anyone is a practical impossibility.

Vumatel still extorting money from customers
Vumatel are really expensive because we don’t have an alternative in my area. Afrihost has the “take it or leave it “ attitude. R727.00 for a 20/10 line speed is day light robbery. Pathetic Vumatel and Afrihost. Can’t wait for the wheel to turn. Greedy barstards.

Yeah that's a rip-off!

Eh, my ISP agreed to give me a discount on a 1GBPS contract on the Vumatel network. 1249 per month is very decent (plus my landlord pays for R500 of it, the neighbors in front pay R744 per month so I pay about R5 of my own money)

If they are not going to lower the price they should increase the speeds of the entry level package and adjust their other packages accordingly to remain competitive.

Well there is money to be made if someone decides to rollout fiber in Vumatel only areas. If they do and they come in 1 cent cheaper I'll move off Vumatel. At this stage, it is clear we are being abused as there are no competitors.

No they don't. This only compares higher end packages and Openserve is still the cheapest with their entry packages. The others have a lot of catching up to do. Scoring a 50% (that's highly dependent on ISP anyway) doesn't make you the cheapest. I hope MF doesn't try to use this flawed metric for any advertising claims.

You would think so except that would cut into their already huge profits. If a new provider comes available,I’ll switch as a matter of principle.
They should,at the least increase the speed to be competitive to their customers but I guess their customers don’t count
