Openbrowse router proxies not avaliable!?

Guys,

There were some people complaining about DNS Name resolution of the service not working. This was in fact our ISP's upstream caching DNS Server. We've instead installed our own caching DNS Server dedicated to Openbrowse that queries the 26 Root DNS Servers from around the world, which will alleviate any issues anyone has been having with hostnames not resolving from the service.

Thanks

Proff,

Just checked 7 days worth of Logs, the site hdpixel does not show, ever...And going to the site right now over the test link shows that my user accessed the page successfully.

But discounting my connection to the URL you gave, I have no evidence that the Caching server has ever been asked to serve that site for the last 7 days.

Thanks

Proff,

What browser are you using that had the "half-loaded" pages ?

Name and version number would help immensely.

Thanks

Hi Cachemaster,

You are correct in saying that http://www.hdpixel.com has not been accessed in the last 7 days...I have basically almost given up on this, but appreciate the help. Please also check imagevenue.com if you can.

Browser: FireFox 2.0.0.14

Thanks Cachemaster

Hey Proff,

According to our Logs, we've processed 903 items from imagevenue.com today, all of them being successful (no denies).

As a rule, no graphics formats are denied, meaning the images should display without issues.

Are you able to access images from there at the moment ?

Thanks

Hi Cachemaster,

The images on my side displays, but some of them only half way. I am going to re-install the browser and check again. Are you able to test the downloading of images from this site? - I'm not getting any denies, just half way loading images every 2nd or 3rd image.

Thanks

Proff,

I've checked from my Side, also using Firefox 2.0.0.14, and images are displaying properly, no half-downloads or anything - Across multiple pages, multiple images.

There are no timeouts from our side - we download the FULL image, cache it, and then pass it on to you. I've checked the cache itself and I checked a random 10 images, and filesizes in the cache match filesizes on the web.

Please let me know what happened with your reload....

Thanks

At the moment I'm simply trying to get onto OpenWeb's site. To do this I have to disable OpenBrowse else OpenBrowse seems to think the site is International then Firefox takes ages to open the site.

Hi Cachemaster,

Things seems much better now. Thank you for your speedy replies. :)

Patrick,

That problem sounds like it's part of openbrowse's routing tables, I'll pass on the info to MrBeep and see what he can do.

Thanks

Proff,

Glad things are working as intended now ! Had some people trying to hammer the service and use various tools to download through it for warez/torrents - but we've been blocking them consistently, and the service is stable and quite fast.

Thanks for the praise, been working very hard on this...

Thanks

Proff,

No video is cached, but the proxy will serve up all youtube content, I confirmed in the logs for today, 3539 items successfully processed and passed onto clients.

Thanks

Cachemaster

patrick123,

I've confirmed with testing that openweb is definately being transferred through our proxy successfully - I'll be happy to give you log excerpts directly to support this.

I've tested with the openbrowse product running and not running, both accesses to the site are served.

So from my side - the proxies are not blocking or disallowing the use of www.openweb.co.za at all...

Thanks
