even though I have international right now I just tested mine for you. mine seems to connect fine and then when I surf (locally and internationally) none of my pages load. I just realised I am paying R70 a month for this.

Mine is working but something that has always bothered me is that my line speed is 384k and I pay for OpenBrowse 384k... now my assumption would be that any pages when browsing should load just as fast when using OpenRouter as it did before. Sadly this is not the case. Pages usually load quick but with OpenRouter it is like using a dial up line, you can watch images slowly loading! This is especially noticeable obviously when loading images.

hi LancelotSA

yes i have noticed what you are saying iam on the 192 at the moment but i have used the 384 when i dont have money problems lol but yes it just doesnt seem to be the right speed , all i can think of is that the more ppl that are using the proxy the slower the speed though iam not sure if that applies but yes it goes much slower than dial up lol. dont get me wrong i like openbrowse when it works like it is supposed to i mean its only R60 or R90 which isnt much really but is all the frustration and refreshing and upset moments when u cant do what you need to reall worth that R60 or R90.

and still we plod on

i am having the SAME problem for the past 3 days.works fine then proxies fail then works fine after a while....

I started getting problems last night.

OpenRouter shows as "OpenRouter Active" in the task bar but all of a sudden I cannot browse international pages. No error loading or anything, just no page loading. I then shut down OpenRouter and when I try to reopen it and start the proxies again I get "proxies failed tests" and get local only.

This has happened a few times now since yesterday afternoon. After a number of attempts to reconnect I eventually get full active proxy status.

What is up with the proxy servers?

I didn't renew my Openbrowse account this month, the app is broken.

I should probably do the same. what a waste. I am still having problems. it's great when it works like this morning but sadly now even my local is slow with OR connected.

Hi Friends

There was a network problem on OpenRouter yesterday. I apologise for the problems experienced.

All should now be resolved.

Please reboot OpenRouter.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Hey,

Thanks but I am afraid I am still getting issues right now.

Keep having to restart OpenRouter as international pages will not load, and even worse sometimes even local pages just hang. Seems to work fine for 10-20minutes and the pages stop loading. Restarting OpenRouter solves the problems for a while but then same thing over again. It is making the whole browsing experience very frustrating to the verge of being unusable.

Obviously when OpenRouter is off and direct connection used without proxy my local is just fine, like right now, so it does not seem to be an IS problem but a OpenWeb proxy one. This has pretty much been the case all weekend on and off.

Anyone else still getting these problems?

Please MrBeep give us some report back and resolution as it is making my whole OpenBrowse experience very unenjoyable.

Thanks

Hey Friends

What is the latest feedback?

I have made some more changes, and upgraded one of the servers who seemed to suffer under the load.

I hope all is now sorted!

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Hey Mr.Beep

Thanks for the effort - speed is an issue for me. I'm getting 4-6KB max, international pages loading extremely slow, not sure why - also getting 100% CPU usage all of a sudden.

Thanks
Proff

hello Mr Beep

iam not sure if you will recall but even after you put my openbrowse set onto another route iam still having problems ... the connection is supposed to be around 192k but seriously iam going at less than a dialup here ranging from speeds of bytes to kbps

eg to load http://www.mxit.com/mxitpc/ took from 14:13:49 to 14:18:58
http://mybroadband.co.za/news/ took from 14:20:45 to 14:21:08

also last night i had a 7 to 10 min lag in msn and yahoo
gmail takes more than 30min to load then it looses connection
connection keeps dopping.

Hi Mr.Beep

Since about 5 minutes ago my speeds has improved. Can the rest on Openbrowse also please provide feedback.

Thank you
Proff

Nope no luck here!

I have just come home, started up my pc, opened OpenRouter and came straight on to here to see what report backs we have. Unfortunately I still seem to be getting ultra slow loads even on local as this page took over one minute to load!

I have msn.com trying to load on another tab and while typing this I am still getting "waiting for msn.com" on the status bar and absolutely no movement on the progress bar!

All this while OpenRouter is showing as active in my taskbar. No flashing lights on my "local area connection" icon either so no data is being transferred. If I close OpenRouter and change my browser settings to direct connection I am able to load a page on myadsl.co.za in less than 2 seconds, so it is not my connection but definately the proxy causing major issues.

We are reaching payment time in a few weeks and if this is not sorted I am not sure I will subscribe this coming month until this is sorted.

Please give us some feedback MrBeep. If it is a known problem and is being sorted we will be more understanding than just being left to chat amongst ourselves. We got told it was a server problem in the weekend whihc was resolved but nothing seems to have changed... well my side and with a few others.

Proff, we'll need to see how you go as mine is often ok for a few minutes and then stops.
