DO want

Some problems though: it's still in the end a superior hackintosh (with all of the update woes that go with it):
Can I run updates on my Open Computer?
The answer is yes and no. No because there are some updates that are decidedly non-safe. Yes because most updates are not non-safe. It's best to check on InsanelyMac for this information but when in doubt don't update it. You may have to reinstall your OS X if it is a non-safe update.

I *still* want one though :D

More at El Reg hardware about their shenanigans ..also HOW it gets to work: apparently by stealing the EFI loader that upgrades olde-skool PC-style BIOS to the flash new stuff (cr)Apple :D uses.

(and a pox on the bloody cretinous, craptacular word-filtering stupidity that doesn't work properly!)

Comes down to date/times of articles, yes? And anyway, even if Psystar themselves aren't real, the tidbit about EFI still advances the body of knowledge with something that may actually be useful.

From the article I posted:
Psystar, the company claiming to offer a $400 computer capable of running off-the-shelf copies of Mac OS X, is not only annoying Apple - it has also managed to piss off the guy who wrote the emulation technology the system's Leopard compatibility hinges on.

Psystar's website is back online today following a temporary absence and is once more pitching what it now calls the Open Computer.
..which leads in turn to: the author's site, something I at least didn't know about before now.

[-]I dont geddit..why dont people just install leopard themselves and buy a similar pc, its no longer rocket science..[/-]

I've failed to install OS X with two (hacked) Leopard ISOs..it is rocket science to get it to work on a PC
