Hi Guys,

I'm in Rooihuiskraal North (Centurion) and my fibre ONT is showing a flashing red LOS light.
Everything was working fine until loadshedding started now at 08:00.
Router and ONT are both on my Ratel 8100 so they have power, but it seems that Openserve has power issues or something along the path has died.

Anybody else with the same issue or has seen this happening also?

Same here in Eldoraigne, Centurion.
The clincher is that my fibre was affected by loadshedding in a different area.

Openserve has power issues or something along the path has died.

This seems to be a new thing. My house has power backup and my Openserve fibre has always been up during loadshedding (even during extended power outages).

My best guess is that somewhere in the Openserve fiber path there is a major exchange whose battery backup systems have broken down or expired and is now being affected by power outages. We'll see if it dies again with the next scheduled power outage at 16:00 today (even though my area is only scheduled to start at 18:00).

So, still working fine over here - suspect that maybe it was a once-off thing at that "major" exchange?
