OpenServe Fiber WTF???

So in August I applied for fiber(installed in my neighborhood finally!!!). And in October OpenServe contacted me to install my fiber. So the guys came, installed it nice and neat. And I was told a technician will come to activate it within 48 hours. No one came even though the fiber was installed.

Called open serve a few times and they said technicians have loads of clients to get up and running so please be patient.

We’re in December now and I contacted OpenServe. According to them I never applied for fiber and even the order number doesn’t exist. They don’t know how it was installed seeing as I never applied. Wtf right.

I contacted Axxess to get OpenServe fiber though them. They sent me a router and contacted me today. They can’t go ahead with the fiber because I already have a pending order with OpenServe. But OpenServe also can’t find the order just that on their system Axxess can’t go ahead. Even though there is no OpenServe order. Their system is blocking me because an order OpenServe can’t find is stopping Axxess.

So what the hell do I do? In the meantime I get 2 to 3 passive aggressive messages daily from Telkom telling me to upgrade to fiber because the ADSL is going to be cut off in the near future in my area.

Axxess support is hit and miss, my advice is get the fibre installed with Afrihost or cool ideas, there are some manual things the ISP will have to do to get it processed, using your utility bill etc and it can take a few weeks but it will get done eventually

That's not passive-aggressive.
That's aggressive!
 
Axxess support is hit and miss, my advice is get the fibre installed with Afrihost or cool ideas, there are some manual things the ISP will have to do to get it processed, using your utility bill etc and it can take a few weeks but it will get done eventually

It’s really strange what’s going on.
 
I had something of a similar issue trying to get another fiber line installed while I already had an active one. I contacted Afrihost support and they sorted it out manually for me without any problems.

I think it depends on how far the ISP support is willing to go.

Openserve is actively pushing people to fibre where they have Openserve coverage.

If you have a DSL line in an area that has fibre Telkom loads a 25Mbps fibre connect provide order for you automatically. An Openserve technician comes and installs fibre for you. That B number that is installed is then released into the holding pool after a day or so and then the new ISP whoever you choose can take over that B number. If it's not migrated in a 12 days the B number cease and a new install (provide) order needs to be placed if you want service again.

If there is an issue like mention that there is an active order on the address a manual order can be placed by the ISP. This is done via the ISP Openserve account manager.

I have come across this issue quite a few times and there is a pretty easy work around by requesting a manual order to be issued.

Openserve technicians do sweet f-a. And they are now outsourcing to sub-contractors. Which would be better... If Openserve got their system together. Sometimes you just can't win.

So my fiber was installed a week ago and it's up and running. Only it's not as it should be. Axxess says they are waiting to move the B number or something over to their side. OpenServe says it's already in the pool. Axxess hasn't been helpful at all. The username and password they gave me doesn't work. So I have to use my ADSL username and password on my fiber to get internet. But the fiber is only 25mbps. I applied for 50mbps through Axxess. Just getting excuses or no help from Axxess at all.

I think I am going to look for another ISP. Can anyone recommend an ISP to me so I can get my fiber running as it should.

I'll have a look at these 3 and contact them. Feels like Axxess it just blaming OpenServe for this one. Spoken to OpenServe a few times and they say it's already in the pool and Axxess just needs to take it. Somehow I rather believe OpenServe. Axxess needs to employ some support people because right now it seems like they have no such thing

Call them and option 3 which is sales ans ask for lines / activation team.

Had the same issue but all sorted got my fiber few days back with axxess.
