Does anyone understand how future fibre works? Openserve contacted me more than two years ago and asked me as trustee of our complex if I would allow them to install fibre to which I agreed. Just before that I applied for ADSL with telkom but they cancelled the installation due to fibre being immenent. Now years later they have dug up our pavement and installed fibre (months ago). However no comnection in the complex. The coverage map says people across the road is active but on our side we are still on the future fibre side. I have tried to contact openserve but this is a futile exercise. Is there any way to find out what their roll out plan is?

How long is a piece of string? Your only option is waiting it out.

It's Telkom - you're at their mercy because they still behave like a Monopolistic Dinosaur of a company...
Their customer service is shocking and trying to get them to do anything for you is like squeezing blood from a stone.
Best is to phone Telkom and ask them what is holding up the installation.
With us - it was something stupid like our driveway being in the wrong place - according to them.

Which number did you call in Telkom. Switchboard gave me the run around...

Good luck. Openserve finished the distribution box installation in our complex at the beginning of July, and we're still waiting for it to be active, and still can't place orders. Not a single person at Openserve (and I've contacted many) can tell me when they'll have us up and running. We're looking at other providers now.
