Openserve no longer offering Capped packages?

I was just informed by my ISP (Axxess) that Openserve Fibre lines no longer have any Capped options and all lines are automatically changed to Uncapped.
Is this true at all the ISPs? Have all Openserve lines changed to uncapped? Not happy here as they always throttle uncapped lines. Their so-called increased speed is not of any value to me if it is throttled.

Interesting. The way I understand things is that the change to uncapped is not a decision that OpenServe makes - rather your ISP.

Since the lines speeds are all increasing, your ISP may have decided to only offer uncapped/throttled packages, to help them manage their own bulk bandwidth?

That is what I need to examine - Axxess told me all ISPs are affected but maybe it is just them. On the MWeb website I also only see Uncapped Fiber options under Openserve - not sure if they had Capped ones before.
Same on Webafrica. Seems all Capped services disppeared quietly overnight.

From what I know, you can however still use a capped DSL account on Openserve.
Although capped DSL accounts are also being phased out...

But since you can no longer get an Openserve line standalone (unless you're an old legacy client), I don't see the purpose of doing that.

Yep, I use a fibre packaged with a tiny 10GB cap (which isn't available to new customers anymore). Then I buy DSL capped data from another ISP.

If someone has a Vox fatpipe capped account they are willing to pass on to you that will work.

The ISP decides what kind of packages you have, not Openserve.
Figured it however since Openserve increased speeds all ISPs suddenly did away with their Capped packages. Can't find any Capped packages anywhere. So Openserve with their so-called higher speed is to blame - now all lines will just get throttled.

I've got a 200Mbps Openserve fibre line through Afrihost. I pull well over 1TB a month, never been throttled.

Glad to hear that. Since I was throttled about 5 years ago I changed to capped and now my capped was taken away so am waiting to see what will happen this month.

Throttling for most part is a thing of the past... Stay away from normie ISP's though, like Mweb, Telkom, etc, as I can imagine them throttling.

Don't think ISP's like Afrihost, Cool Ideas, amongst others dare throttling unless they have absolute reason to do so.

If your ISP still throttles on Fibre - you need a new ISP
