OpenView HD - Anyone using it?

My folks have mediocre SABC reception where they are. I've been contemplating OpenView HD as an option to improve their SABC reception. Anyone using it or know anyone who is? I happened to spot a special at House & Home for R849 inc. installation. which looks way better than the recommended R1600 price.

@morkhans Please read the fine print. The price advertised is for the decoder ONLY (excluding installation) R849, as mentioned you save R50. RRP around R899 for the decoder only with installation around R1499(An advert in location newspaper) - R1799, been shopping around myself if the price you mentioned above included installation wouldn't think twice. As an LnB,Satellite Dish & Pole with cabling can set you back R400 - R450. Space Television will be launching their decoder any time soon probably cheaper than Ellies.

Correction Morhans I think that is an Error. I hope there is no errors and omission. someone ****ed up

Actually slightly higher cost for the Space TV box @ R999 retail, but it has TVlink and future PVR capabilities that the Ellies box does not have at this stage.

@Quantum Theory I will buy directly from the supplier probably it is R100 cheaper if I am lucky that SPACE tv want to give me a disconnect. I prefer the Space TV box, will be ready for future pay models, highly doubt it will work with TOP TV, anything is possible if you supply them the decoder nymvber

Impossible to do it for R849 all inclusive. There is no subscription charges to pay for subsidies...

Will definitely not work for Top TV.
 
Please let us know if you get one at that price.
i dont want to miss the offer if that is correct price.

Yes. I was saying that you will never be able to get Top TV through the OVHD box, which I think is what RichardG was implying.

One more question.
If I get OVHD decoder only, can I split the cable that is coming from top tv dish so that both top tv and OVHD work with out changing cables?

At the moment yes, using a satellite splitter (range up to 2150 MHz), but Top TV is talking about new transponders on the opposite polarity. This means a twin LNB + multiswitch will be needed in future, for that application.
 
Any idea about price range for satellite splitter and which shops keep it in stock?

Don't trust house and home. Incredible connection can honor such errors. They have a notice oops we noticed an error. Seriously someone should have done proof reading.

The price you see is the price you should pay don't make our problem your problem.

I will go to Game and see if they can do a price match.
