OpenView HD decoder details

So I was wondering if the OpenView decoder gets its signal from the same satellite as the TopTV decoder, is it possible to watch both off one decoder/installation?

Apparently it uses the same satalite ... so same dish could be used. For HD you will need a different LND or something apparently ... and dont think the Top TV decoder can be used as it does not support HD either.

perhaps the decoders for OpenView might have a smart card option and then work it from that angle? TopTV did hint towards an HD decoder at some point too.

I want to be able to watch as much as possible with the least number of dishes and cables. Got the LNB's and dishes ready to go, just want to have one environment for all content from that satellite....

The more they speak the more I lose interest. I sounds like I'm not in their target market. I know they say they're catering for a wide LSM market, but it that was the case, they would've provided for, 1) a PVR, 2) hopefully DUAL, 3) internet maybe. The initial article was say they're going for 1080p, but it doesn't come across like anymore. I wonder if it's persuasive enough for one to ditch MC. Well maybe it is, but my point is that I kinda expected a bit more from their specification. I am disappointed.

Couple of points I hope to add to a future article:

• They aren't looking to compete with DStv;
• OpenView itself can handle 1080p, but the resolution is decided by the channels themselves.
