How would account sharing benefit OW exactly? They still have to pay for the bandwidth used. So if 100 clients each have their own account and use 100GB every month, they still have to pay for all that data, having 100 clients and each one sharing an account would just mean that each account would just have a 2x usage history, which in the case of OW doesn't matter since usage doesn't mean anything nor negatively impact your account standing. Also all hell would break loose when someone changes their password.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you're paying for a contended/shaped service, not a dedicated line. OW could buy a 1Gbit pipe and sell it to 1000 clients at 10Mbs each, that's kinda why we don't get full speed at all time, no ISP has enough capacity to sell to all clients to have them all hammer it at the same time. "sharing" of the pipe is a reality for all ISPs and the notion that just assigning an account to 2 users would benefit themselves in any way doesn't make sense to me. Could be because I'm crazy or just inexperienced. Just my 2c

It's also fairly interesting to note how 2 notably negative feedback threads have no longer become stickied as cancellations and debate heat up. I'm pretty sure this was done at the request of the respective reps, though we're doing a decent enough job keeping it at the top ourselves it seems.

Like I said before, this is not about pointing fingers, but rather protecting the consumer and helping consumers actually get what they pay for.
I highly doubt they pay for bandwidth used. Go sign up with Internet Solutions, ask them for all the available options to resell (which is exactly what OW is). Then tell me exactly how this is not benefiting OW to share accounts.
There are 2 types of accounts to sell.
1. Capped accounts, re-seller pay per gig. Pretty certain OW won't have these accounts shared, would be a nightmare to manage
2. Uncapped accounts, re-seller pay fixed fee per account, add a markup to it to make money. Now by default the normal IS uncapped accounts allow 2 connections per account, which is evident by looking at the Plugg accounts as an example. Now since OW pay a select fee for this account, tell the user he can only connect once, and then sell it to 2 users, they make the markup plus the complete extra sale's money. And that is how OW benefit from selling the account twice!
So I'm curious. I'm currently on OpenWeb's 4Mbps Gold Uncapped Package (Orange Edition @ R649), during the evening my speeds are fine, but now that I'm on leave and wanting to browse the net during the day the speeds have absolutely caved. I'm trying to download updates via Steam and it's telling me my peak speed is 97.4 KB/s and my current ranges between 60 KB/s to 72 KB/s.
What's up with that?

What amazes me, is how sheeples still believe dishonest company reps.
- There are evidence from multiple people, about account sharing using different trackers, first the isdsl tracker, now also the telkom tracker. Telkom's tracker won't lie, hell they run actual ADSL infrastructure.
- From above, they say the radius accounting trackers is in-accurate.
- They say they don't use the star system, yet all IS re-sellers are bound by that system
- They say they buy bandwidth, but when you become a IS re-seller, there is no such option. Only buying of accounts.
They make up so many stories, that I haven't even listed, yet sheeple believe their word as the only truth in this world.

I'm afraid your post is far from reality.
It is a pity that these posts made out to be 'fact' are allowed on here.
We do not sell stock standard accounts. If we did we would have been out of business a long time ago.
We purchase capacity and manage our own shaping.
We see this matter as closed. It is unfortunate that you and PostManPot are given free reign to post here, even though you are not clients, taking every opportunity you humanly can to post negativity about OpenWeb.
