And there goes video streaming again, was working great until 8 pm. And MrBEEP, I did have a ticket open last night and still open, so not sure who closed the ticket.
 
download was flying at full speed, at 8:12pm it stopped and slowly started climbing up again, only at 500kB/s now. I think a high upload seeder disconnected or something. Going to leave it overnight and hope for the best.

Mr beep i also got a ticket opened...I'm still waiting for senior engineers to respond to me last response was at 18:12
 
MrBEEP, I was just responded to on the ticket stating that there is a known fault with Telkom in Randburg? Is this true and what are my options?
 
how do u guys thing does openweb gold orange compare to AH's business accounts?
its only R30more pm and its got no limits or thresholds ,unshaped and unthrottled.

Just purchased the 2 MB Gold Power account and all was fine till about 8pm. Browsing and downloads have pretty much grinder to a halt.

Last night there was a fault in the Randburg and surrounds (Telkom).

Telkom engineers are aware of the issue

can you please help me out with some answers, email going back and forth between support and me trying to figure out whats happening with my internet, my traceroutes are running 100% low ping on everything torrents running over 300kb/s and news server yet browsing,speed test and browsing downloads just dont work and yet nobody can give me an answer or point me in right direction,

its the weirdest thing ever that news and torrents are cool but everything else refuses to work, but then after 12 everything shoots back up to normal and speed test works nicely, now if my exchange was congested i would not be asking for help but its not

and im on a gold power uncapped 4mb account

No ways man, my downloads (high number of seeds across all) were creeping at 19 to 40 kbps on my 10mbps line while streaming and browsing were perfect.

MrBeep, has there been high shaping in Cape Town?

I had to wait a full day (12 hours) for a 500meg file? something is not ayoba...

I know there are a host of OW Gold packages - but I am not sure which one is similar to the AH package mentioned above.

Mrbeep, I'd really appreciate an answer on the above.



Also regarding the more you pay, the more you get principle...that's fine, I think we all understand the principle. However, I don't think OW is listening to customer requests or perhaps not providing a detailed enough answer. For example, some user may have a priority as downloading or streaming or VPN or torrents or news server or unshaped during peak. How does a user know whether Titan is better than Vanilla on streaming? They could be exactly the same on streaming performance but perhaps it's specifically better at being unshaped sooner. This is the kind of detail your customers are after.



Also, as a customer, it's hard to tell if my upgraded product is 'really' better than my previous one. There is no mechanism for users to see whether they are receiving a shaped, unshaped or partially shaped service at any point in time. So I can't tell for eg that I used to get unshaped around 6pm in evenings on vanilla but on gold I get unshaped around 5pm. This would be so useful to empower your customers.
 
Last night it was slow... slow as lard...
Can't wait to go back to an ISP that doesn't do this to me when I need to do work.
