Does anyone know if the IS Newsserver is working.
It was down from about 10 pm last nite until i had to leave for work this morning.

This usually points to a Telkom issue or Telkom congested exchange.

Kindly call Telkom on 10210 and log a fault

We are aiming for 6 months. We are completely redesigning and recoding everything from scratch :)

Hello, I am using Openweb Titan 2MB Uncapped and I'm quite happy.
However I know that shaping happens on it - like when I download a youtube video it doesn't download at 200kB/s but around 70kb/s.
Not a train smash but what product should I upgrade to so that there is no priority on what I download, btw I'll need +-30GB per month so a capped version will be better if it costs cheaper than uncapped&unshaped adsl.

yea ow and youtube does that.dont run at full speed

when i was on gamers ,y 4mbps droped to 50kb/s and load at around 250-300 and for a few see full speed
with gold power it runs alot better dont drop to less than 250 and streams at 350+

i am now on 6mbps orange gold and can stream 1080p well

so,by the looks of it,u need to pay for a high rank account if u want youtube to work well

Sure, I understand I'm paying cheap so can't expect too much but what do you mean by high call account (ie what is it and from what company) thx.

Capped or Gold account. Capped would work better in your scenario.
 
Thank you, I was indeed told to take a capped account, maybe even consider others (i.e Afrihost etc.)
because it can be cheaper and I can buy more if I need.
Thx again.

EDIT: And it's more consistent than uncapped.
 
:wtf: No issues with streaming during the day... Mr Beep whatever you did dont change it :whistle:

I have had great service from openweb. I am just a bit concerned about the crawling speeds of downloads over the last two days.

Well, when there is a real line fault I can't fix with the easy port recreate tool at Axxess, I still log a ticket with Telkom via sms or online and have them take a look. That tool though and not having to sit through the irritating Telkom elevator music for half an hour each time I need a port recreate or something, along with the cheaper price makes it worth it for me.

A day or two at most, but there is no interruption of service during that time. You just buy the line rental online and let them take care of it. Your voice line stays with Telkom.

With Axxess there is an ADSL line tab you can click at the top to go through the process.
 
And streaming is k@k yet again, seems to be every evening after 8 pm.... What is going on since Sunday?!
