Ok, thanks MrB.
Any idea on time frames for implementation of new site - next month, 3-6, next year?
We are aiming for 6 months. We are completely redesigning and recoding everything from scratch![]()
Hello, I am using Openweb Titan 2MB Uncapped and I'm quite happy.
However I know that shaping happens on it - like when I download a youtube video it doesn't download at 200kB/s but around 70kb/s.
Not a train smash but what product should I upgrade to so that there is no priority on what I download, btw I'll need +-30GB per month so a capped version will be better if it costs cheaper than uncapped&unshaped adsl.
yea ow and youtube does that.dont run at full speed
when i was on gamers ,y 4mbps droped to 50kb/s and load at around 250-300 and for a few see full speed
with gold power it runs alot better dont drop to less than 250 and streams at 350+
i am not on 6mbps orange gold and can stream 1080p well
so,by the looks of it,u need to pay for a high call account if u want youtube to work well

Yes, get a better ISP... complaining is futile.
YouTube down for anyone else?
Well, when there is a real line fault I can't fix with the easy port recreate tool at Axxess, I still log a ticket with Telkom via sms or online and have them take a look. That tool though and not having to sit through the irritating Telkom elevator music for half an hour each time I need a port recreate or something, along with the cheaper price makes it worth it for me.I had a bad experience when afrihost managed my line. Reason being is that they just do not chase after solutions as much as you can on your own. At times they even closed tickets without the issue being resolved. So... I would advise against what you are recommending.
I have had great service from openweb. I am just a bit concerned about the crawling speeds of downloads over the last two days.
A day or two at most, but there is no interruption of service during that time. You just buy the line rental online and let them take care of it. Your voice line stays with Telkom.l_abc_l said:What is the time lag between getting off Telkom and joining one of those u mentioned?
Also, does your voice rental stay with Telkom?
With Axxess there is an ADSL line tab you can click at the top to go through the process.Dubes said:I was unaware that you could just have your line with any ISP other than Telkom, can you? It is not advertised anywhere and the only place you see lines mentioned are in the "bundled offerings".
