OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

And streaming is k@k yet again, seems to be every evening after 8 pm.... What is going on since Sunday?!

I've been noticing this also. Thought I'd give it a few days before querying it, but I think it's time to query...

I think it's time to look for another ISP as OW Support keep blaming Telkom for everything.

Please drop me a PM with the URL of the stream you are watching so that I can take a look

MrBEEP just a general question but have you guys made Diablo 3 a gaming priority on your network? :p To be specific to the EU server? Here is the tracert to the EU server, please work your magic*

*Nothing is wrong on OW side just wishful thinking that you guys could solve every single issue... :p

MrBEEP why is it normal for browsing to be shaped to death that some sites take 3 minutes to open.

I am trying to download the Diablo 3 loot 2.0.1 patch from the European servers since this morning 8am, and the only download speed I am receiving is 0KB/s. Can it be their servers? Something broken?? I ran a tracert and it seems fine.

Diablo 3 uses P2P by default for its patches because they say it is faster. Chances are OW has shaped P2P and thats why it is failing? Simple test open the Battle.net app and click on the Beta icon in the top left corner then go to settings. From there look for Game Install/Update and then scroll down to the bottom and untick Enable peer-to-peer. This should force the downloader to use normal HTTP for downloads...

Thanks, I have tried that this morning and have have tried now again. It's a no go for me. Still not downloading the patch.

So either OW has released the taps and thats why I can now play with no issues or my own advice of switching off P2P has helped me drastically in getting better playing latency. MrBEEP can you provide some insight on this? Back to my original question of, is Diablo 3 on a "do not shape" list? :p

@afsrav then I have no idea. Sorry...

No problem. Seems something's happening now.... I logged off completely, and logged in again. I think there might have been a hick up with the battlenet auto logging. Makes no sense.......

Meh. Took me forever to get it working this afternoon and then at 5 exactly it went absolutely dead again. I don't suppose there's something that happens on the OW network that kills D3 is there? I'm asking out of oh so much hope here that it's not the server side.

Its the same reason I am asking, I really hope it is not server side but I really suspect it is. According to Blizzard D3 uses normal http protocol for the game so OW should not be shaping it however it does no harm to ask :).

Haha yeah, hope is all I have here. :) That 15th hop timeout is really cramping my style.
