OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

My internet has been getting slower bit by bit these last few months. Not the ISP though, think my MSAN is getting more and more connections to it and I no longer have all the bandwidth for myself :D

When I just got my 20Mbit, I could get 19.2Mbits/sec on Speedtests, now I just get around 18Mbit/sec. Not a huge impact but I can definitely see it.

Now where is decapod 10 specifically?

I suppose it depends which Gold package you have. There are 3 or 4 types (including the older Gold accounts.)

I am on Gold Leon and my P2P speeds are abysmal for 5 days now (during the evening); but hey who's counting. :D

This was not like this a week ago. Something went seriously wrong somewhere.

Unfortunately this is not the case. You just need to follow this thread, and you will see plenty of examples of accounts marketed as prioritised performing worse than cheaper accounts, and vice versa cheap accounts outperforming more expensive accounts marketed as being better.

Note that this mainly relates to during hours usage, since most accounts are unshaped after 17h00/in the evenings.

The most common occurrence is clients being ecstatic with their new account in the beginning, only to have find it unusable, during hours, a few weeks/months later.

It's startling how much of this I've witnessed...

Seriously....................wth is going on with the speeds guys ???

Everything except browsing is DEAD ! I rebooted my modem hundreds of times. This really getting irritating now

Also dead southern suburbs, IS news server getting less than 1kb/s

69kb downloaded in 18mins

I'm in JHB but also with a gamers king account. I can't even load Google. I've had to resort to mobile data just to browse. And this is AFTER I logged a support call cause everything seemed slow. At least before I said anything I could browse. Sort of...

I was on TeamSpeak connected to a server hosted in the UK whilst playing Diablo 3. Myself and 4 other South Africans dropped connection to both TS and Diablo 3 at the same time while maintaining connection to Steam and Battle.net . All ISP's are experiencing the same issue with international traffic at the moment.

This is a Tracert to the EU hosted Diablo 3 server

I had the other 4 users run the same Tracert cmd and they're with different ISP's. all had the same result.

Hello, tracerts to that server will always timeout at around 14-15 hops, that's just how they work. I have some that i did a while ago I can link if you want that look similar (although my isadsl IP is different, which openweb account did you test from ?) also I am not talking about an isolated incident or a disconnect, I am talking about heart breaking lag that is constant and painful. But opewnweb support has been very helpful and are helping me out, Openweb definitely has the best support of any ISP ive been with (ive been with only 4 so far but its noticeably better)

Well Afriman reported some kind of ADSL issue in our region, but it should be stabilizing.
