Hi remy,

Kindly PM me your account details. I would like to see which service you are on at the moment.

Was wondering why I wasn't get instant notifications of new posts, now found this thread :D

MrBeep, any traction on 4mb pricing, or 4mb "burst" optional extra options for current 2mb gold account holders?

Diablo 3 is completely not working today, menu loads but as soon as you try and enter game you get a loading screen and then kicked out after a minute.

Getting 160-180 ping on average, no disconnects or kicks. Openweb 2mb Original gold uncapped.

Looking at the thread and seeing all these posts about users being shaped to hell reminds me why I'm on Gold. Haven't had an account related issue for a while now

Okay... so I was trying to be patient and not complain but it's been over a week now and my torrents don't even move. Even in the hours between midnight and 6am, I'll be lucky if anything moves a few percent.

And yes, it's not a line issue.

Can someone explain what's going on here? I saw an Openweb post something about an Apple and Samsung update.. but come on, nearly 2 weeks? And even in the midnight-6am frame?

My Gamers King account has being horrendous since the start of this month. I haven't seen such bad shaping ever, not on Vanilla and the Hero packages.

Regardless of which package you're on, you shouldn't be shaped to the point where you can't browse or retrieve your email. It's basic use of internet.

I have referred several friends to OW & all of them have different accounts, the same issue at hand is the heavy handed shaping during business hours. It's totally unacceptable. Non of us signed up for an after business hours adsl account.

I suppose it depends which Gold package you have. There are 3 or 4 types (including the older Gold accounts.)

I am on Gold Leon and my P2P speeds are abysmal for 5 days now (during the evening); but hey who's counting. :D

This was not like this a week ago. Something went seriously wrong somewhere.

I'm with you on this one. I have a friend I referred to OW, and he has the same problems.

I see a lot of complaining but no tracerts, line stats or anything to diagnose the issues. If you have issues post as much information as you can, the issue is not always shaping.

Openweb, I hope you rectify this problem soon or advise why we are receiving this slow speeds during off peak time.

I should add that this is not a line fault. Backup account works perfectly. Openweb general download and surfing has no problem. Problem is with p2p during off peak period.

I have two other accounts with different ISP's, tried them & they're running fine. Asked a few other friends living in different areas to try my account details, dead as a door nail. No need for all of that when it's quite obviously shaping, especially when everything works at the stroke of 5pm.

Well post some tracerts, speedtests, pingtests, etc. of all the ISP accounts so everyone can see where exactly the issue is.

I don't really like this attitude. Why should Openweb's problem become my problem? I've seen multiple people all with the same complaints, everything works fine on other ISP connections, so clearly the issue is with them.

I pay for a service and I expect it to work appropriately. I'm not going to bust my ass running 7 different tests when they haven't contacted anyone or offered any kind of explanation for this.

Do you know that it's Openweb's problem yet? Just because a ton of people have problems does not mean it's ISP based, could be an infrastructure issue in a particular area or similar.

My internet goes from pretty much completely broken to blazing fast as the clock strikes 5pm. Doesn't with any of my other 3 accounts on the same line. I think that means it's on OW side.

Well we've had multiple people in here testing different ISPs and having no issues whatsoever. Also, Openweb has access to multiple backbones, if it is for example an MTN issue (since Afrihost having problems), they could move some traffic across. I've been moved to different backbones multiple times before.

Don't know why everyone is suddenly rising to the defense of poor service.

Maybe because it would help resolve your issue quicker. Anybody working with anything IT related will tell you that the worst fault report to get is "it's broken." Then the technician has to go back and forth with the user to get information which is impossible for them to get on their own, this wastes time. At least try and provide some sort of diagnostics to help get to cause of the issue, network systems are stupidly complex and the more data there is to work with the quicker your issue will be resolved.

Maybe try using Zertop's tool, which is really easy to use: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/576445-quot-Help-me-fix-my-internet-quot-report-tool

Point I'm trying to make is that I'd be happy to cooperate, but I'd like someone to actually talk to me about this issue first.

So far no one has responded, to my private messages or in this thread. And it is clear that this is not an issue specific to me only.
