OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Well my Gold Account is pretty much dead right now....It took almost 2 minutes to fully load this page on a public f**king holiday!

I have no problems with p2p traffic, Youtube and other streaming services being heavily shaped during business hours but when I'm struggling to do basic browsing then it's complete horse manure.

My last month with Openjunk....it's gone from bad to worse. Why am I paying extra for a "Gold" account if I'm not deriving any benefit whatsoever?!

Thank God I'm not on a debit order because these guys won't be seeing another cent of my money.

not down for me, the site loads ok, just authentication doesn't work when i put in my Openweb username/password. Was just wondering, as people have indicated that it used to work before. I know they asked IS to block Openweb users from their stats site, looks like they've done the same with SAIX now.

not only shaped, but shaped to sh*t. I actually don't normally mind the weekday shaping, as I have an Afrihost 10GB account that I use during the day. Its already a sin that one has to have 2 ADSL accounts just to work, but on most days Openweb's uncapped accounts are pretty useless during daytime.

So I've accepted that, got the alternative and use Openweb at night/weekends/holidays. What p|ssed me off is that when I queue downloads for holidays, then find them shaped to crap. My FTP (local site) has improved somwhat since earlier.. getring a glorious 20KB/s now!

Im' also looking around for alternatives now... And I have a bunch if clients to take with me when I find that

Don't worry dude, this is normal for office hours on Gold uncapped.

Screw this ****, local browsing is terrible, international browsing is even worse. **** you OpenWeb.

Think I'll just buy a second account for this month and take the hit on my chin and come the beginning of June I'll be free of this ****.

I hear you, and have been where you are, but I just sucked it up and paid for two ISP's (which just made the hate for OW Gold original all the more permanent), and chalked it down to a learning experience, and trust me when I say this, my experience taught me a lesson I will never forget ;)

At least you've made a decision which proves you're not suffering from Stockholm :D

I was honestly better off with MWEB, much more consistent experience and I think the support via the forums and Twitter was much better.
 
30KB/s on a 10mbps gold uncapped line

pretty dismal even by openweb's standards

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ANY WORK TODAY AT ALL WHEN YOU ARE SHAPING / THROTTLING (IDGAF ABOUT WHATEVER NOMENCLATURE YOU USE) MY HTTP DOWNLOADS TO 3.3% OF MY LINE SPEED?

IT'S TAKING ME OVER AN HOUR TO DOWNLOAD ONE ACADEMIC JOURNAL

SERIOUSLY YOU AND YOUR COMPANY CAN SUCK BIG DONKEY BALLS, YOU ARE PATHETIC.
 
Vote with that yung wallet, Axxess has a great ShareTheNet deal on at the moment.
 
Would it be possible to include a poll on the front page of the worst ISP?

My money is on Openweb to take top honours, head and shoulders above the rest.

Until I see independent, conclusive and non optimized tests I will not think otherwise. Its the same **** re-branded like mweb's so called normal, premium and small business.

Its very clear that some form shenanigans is at work here...

Definitely shenanigans.

Their "system" has obviously put me on the wrong tier at the moment (after my last and nth account change) because my downloads are shaped to 30KB/s which is more in keeping with what users on lower tiers report.

I am on gold uncapped leon and despite the daytime shaping can usually achieve speeds of at least 100KB/s in the day, which is pretty much the only difference between the accounts.
