It was already admitted that account sharing is used as a form of contention ratio... Contention ratio at the account level... You've missed the ball here, pal.

Over the last few days, and specifically last night, my line disconnected twice while playing BF4.
Is there a way to see if an ISP fault or Telkom fault?

I never said they weren't sharing accounts, I said that the evidence was not compelling enough to be as sure as some of you guys were.
Contention at an account level is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and OW is the only ISP I know of to do this.
Contention is at an IPC level is it not? (I'm open to correction)
I might be mistaken but I think, they buy IPC capacity and then set up realms. And then within the realm they set up groups/packages that compete/content for x amount of capacity. Feel free to correct meIf this is the case then I don't see why contention is happening at an account level or why it would also be happening here at the same time?
In effect doubling their income without doubling their cost.
Yes, while using Telkom/your exchange/the alignment of the stars as an excuse for your bad experience.
Keoma is clever, which is why he is a Doctor.
I'm also not 100% on how ISP's buy IPC bandwidth and how they split it up but I know for sure its not supposed to happen at an account level. I would assume that if the contention is 15:1 then they would have pool 15x10Mb accounts for every 10Mb of IPC bandwidth the ISP bought. Else if they were contending at account level they would be selling the same 10Mb sold 15 times over, ridiculous if you using the latter.
I just used 15:1 as an example because the only ISP I could find that showed their contention ratio was Cybersmart.

My guess is they buying IPC bandwidth from IS, which is contended at 15:1 (for arguments sake), they create accounts and then sell them twice. In effect doubling their income without doubling their cost.
LMAO, thanks for the good laugh bru!
User: My interwebs is slow.
OW: Your router is not attuned to the stars
bwhahahaha it's not your star sign this month. You'll have to get Telkom to do an attunement test![]()

When was this exactly and what were the exact words? It was already admitted that account sharing is used as a form of contention ratio... Contention ratio at the account level... You've missed the ball here, pal.
This still doesn't make sense. I get that this is possible, but why would they sell accounts twice, instead of simply selling twice as many accounts? The later would be simple overselling and would make much more sense to do, if they really had decided to try and rip people off. They don't publish contention ratios remember. Plus, it makes more sense that they buy a lump of capacity, create contention ration brackets and various shaping rule categories and then sell accounts that share it. Sharing of actual single accounts makes no sense.Gboss said:My guess is they buying IPC bandwidth from IS, which is contended at 15:1 (for arguments sake), they create accounts and then sell them twice. You keep setting up strawmen and then claiming victory when you successfully attack it. This is wooly thinking.whatwhat said:Even if Openweb buys bandwith they are scoring. If you buy 100Mbps from a provider you can sell 10 x 10Mb accounts at 1:1 contention (just to make it easier). They are selling 20 accounts but making you think you are getting 1:1. They are still making more money per Mbps bought, as they know that both accounts can never exceed 10Mbps combined at any point.

It's purely the fact that u haven't read this thread for a month that has you defending Openweb, as you are the last defender.
