OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Oh, don't get me wrong. Their service has been on a steady decline - it's only been recently that it's dipped to a point where it's become a problem for me.

Anybody having issues with OpenWeb "4Mbps Gold Uncapped (Original)" (or similar) account ?

I get decent ping throughput sometimes, and other times I get massive packet loss (>80%), but TCP connections can't be established at all (SYN goes out, no SYN-ACK comes back).
 
Holly .... this has to be the worst ISP I have had in my life, and I have been with Mweb for 3 years so I know bad internet.

Everything about Openweb is just so unbelievably backwards, let me list my frustrations so far :

  • I sign up 29 August for Titan uncapped which claims it is free until end August. It only gets activated 1st September so WTF is the point?
  • There is absolutely no console to indicate usage
  • Judging by the speed I am getting it is obvious that I am shaped yet there is no way to see what shaping is applied
  • After 3 days I realise Openweb Titan uncapped is a steaming pile of dog .... so I cancel
  • A week later I get a response saying it will only be cancelled 51 days later (end of October)
  • I occasionally use this account just for the heck of it and every time I am reminded how woefully .... it is.


Worst ISP ever, it is worse than Mweb I tell you.
 
ROFL people still sign up with openweb even after all the questions about their shady business practices came to light?

Well, well, well... you are a long-time myBB member and somehow you missed the big hilarious OpenWeb drama that occurred a few months ago in the OW thread :wtf:

Always check the ISP threads when you want to order a new ISP accounts. Please don't be deceived by the fact that AH recently won the MyBB's BEST ISP 2014 award. They ****ing suck. Their uncapped products are ****ing useless.
 
Well that they ...king suck is a definitely confirmed.

My DSL line is with WA right now, not sure what to do in terms of an account, I am not a big fan of MTNhost so I might just get uncapped WA again.

4. Only got a handful of employees - Leon, Zelda, Leoni, Charmaine. Athol and Keoma the members of the CC.

5. They use various names - OpenISP, Openweb, Myopenweb etc.

6. Committed FRAUD with their CIPRO registration using a false address etc.

Nice bit reading there. Should have read it before I signed up but the ads for OpenWeb as all over myBB so I thought, meh, lets give it a try.

I was a moron, nothing new there.

Always schedule your downloads (http/p2p) between 12AM and 6AM.

Chances are, that Afirhost is spending a ****load of money with MyBB, so that is why they won most of the rewards. Not to mention, how MyBB is not reporting on the massive failure that is Afrihost Hosting. Their hosting side is well...as good as non-existant.
