Openweb - Any good?

Aha, I see! Strange of him to do so? Anyway... moving on... ask for an Everyday Uncapped Trail from Openweb, it would probably suit your needs. You will be shaped in the day but unshaped after 7pm

And when OW shape, they go full out. Simple things like Google search crawled and timed out.
If I needed a file from MSDN urgently, I would end up doing it on my cell. Fkn pathetic internet. And that was GOLD.

After my support session, rebooting routers, ports etc... It would come right - for a little bit. Then repeat process.

I work from home so need good Internet 24/7. If you work at an office during the day then you would probably not notice the problems I had.

I work at an office mostly yes but I do freelance work and do need to download large files and send large files during the day from time to time.

Doing a bit of research now it is becomming clear that all local ISP's are terrible :(

Whoops, then everday uncapped wont be for you (Ignore that part in the PM :D)

I dont know of any other guaranteed unshaped providers that I could suggest... maybe Telkom is the way to go then

If you use it from 6pm to 6am

So,
I have given MWEB notice, at the end of this month I have no internet.
Guess I better start looking around.

I get the impression that Openweb is the best, but how good are they really? I hear conflicting stories about people saying its shaped to oblivion during the day, and some say its downright awful.

I have a close friend who has an account with them, and he is a heavy downloader, and uses Netflix and Hulu on the connection. It works.

I am really confused.

As much as I hate to say it, it would seem so. My father is actually with them and I am going there for the holidays so will have the opportunity to run some tests then on his line and account

I reckon I also have a special modem...
this ISP kicks MWEB in the balls.

Yes I have and its fine... its actually better for me than what I had before.. people seem to think MWEB don't shape/throttle.
