I know I'm deaf but hell... can someone please call Openwebs call center number and tell me if I really am that deaf or if their call center prompts are really really soft
The number is 0861 2244 66

I didn't get much help from the guy I spoke to but I managed to get an email off to Keoma, using my cellphone, who was as helpful as usuall and now i'm sorted again and a happy customer :D
So thanks Openweb, just up the volume control on your voice prompts there ;)
 
Trying to call them today, 7 times in row i got "The number you have dialed is not in service"...

When I finally did get through I didn't have any volume problems though.

But yeah, the staff at the end of that call center really are useless. They cannot access your account in any manner so they cannot answer any questions. They also really seem to not even know the products that well either.

So far, OpenWeb's product has been awesome, but I am SERIOUSLY let down by their telephonic support. How the heck am I supposed to sort out a problem when my internet is down?

Bingo, you nailed it. On their site the recommended method of support is e-mail, but it is the most unreliable and doesn't help if your account is down as you say.

I feel a bit left in the dark sometimes.

And I still don't have an OW number, have sent multiple emails already throughout the month. I just don't get a response. Phone the call-centre and they tell me to email the accounts department and around we go.

EDIT: Got a response finally, solved.

Lol, yes the guy said to me my account details will be sent to me via email so I said to him how am I supposed to get them if I have no internet access and he was just like :confused: um ... is there no where else you could check your email? I just said yeah I'll find a way, thanks .... Have a great day and thanks for calling!!!

This is a limited call centre. Our main suport focus is email, and in case you have no internet, we do have an SMS support facility available as well.

Oh, and I am always available to answer your emails if you do not get a satisfactory response through our normal support channels.

For priority support, you can contact our SMS Sales and Support Center.


SMS the word: openweb
followed by your message to 34110. SMS's cost R2
Eg: openweb I forgot my password. My ow num is 5891
 
Got my OW number query sorted, thanks OpenWeb.

We eagerly await the new support and ticketing system ;)
 
That's why I always have an axxess prepaid 1GB account handy. they have a long expiry time and helpful in emergencies.

Tel. line currently engaged ; sent a mail to them at 6a.m. today with payment details, did the order via the website, and 2 hours after their official opening time, 8h30am still waiting for data to be loaded.

They have by farthe worst support channels I've come across in ISP & for that matter, any company I've dealt with, in a long time.

Their phone system, when you can get through, has Option 1 for Sales & 2 for Support -
Support goes back to the original welcoming message.

This is all well below par - will definitely be using up my data from this order, if & when I get it, and already have other options in mind.
 
I'm afraid with the Vodacom Business outage, our support line has been overloaded with calls this morning. I do apologize.
