I've been having internet speed problems since December that I can't get sorted out. I used to be getting 1-2mbps most of the month. I replaced my router, my wireless adapter, I'm currently got the pc attached to the router via an Ethernet. It is an older one but it should handle my 100mb line. I now get on average 20mbps before and after I installed the Ethernet.
I phoned MWEB tonight to complain and had the phone put down on me. This isn't the first time this happened, the first time I was trying to report an actual outage, not complain to MWEB about their speeds. (I have a feeling it was the same guy). Before he decided to cut the call he had me test the line with fast.com and it showed 95mbps download speed. I did a google search and this is basically a con, it isn't an accurate test and MWEB could very well be prioritizing traffic to the site to inflate the number. Other dealing (reporting more outages) with the call center hasn't left me enamered with their capabilities.
I'm fed up with them but don't know how else to go with as I have feeling this is a issue on MWEB side and I feel I'll run into the same problems with another ISP.
