OPENWEB -cancellations

Im sure if you called Keoma and spoke to him nicely, he would be more than willing to sort you out. Just remember in a lot of cases they reselling a product. So if they are bound to the 1 month thing, then so are you! Otherwise they take the hit $$$

Forum, you make up you're minds! After much back and forth, the reasonableness flits out the window. Perhaps i retracted the comment they took umbrance to, yet the open to persuasion is as a pretentious standpoint they adopted through he correspondence. It was never going to be anything but our 30 days. I have had problems in the past with open web. I really want them to sue me, while I am living in another country. HERE IS THE CORRESPONDENCE
<snip>

What the hell is "umbrance?"

Look, let's put this in simple terms: you signed a contract the moment you accepted their terms and conditions. It is up to them to allow you to break that contract beforehand. Clearly you're out of luck there. So man up and pay them what you owe them instead of trying to worm out of it like a sleazebag.

In future, read the fine print and honour your agreements.

@Hadrian

They have a point. If you had spoken with them directly first they might have been more inclined to help you without the whole forum knowing about it. Now that the whole forum knows, if they give you that favour then everyone will ask for it.

Moral of the story:

Don't be an ass and ask nicely.

Ja, I see their point, and you sign you stay on the dotted line. Damn, I just wanted a small break. This forum is active, but also fair. Now, off overseas where the bandwidth is cheap and fast.

I must agree. More often lately, I'm encountering this kind of attitude where mostly younger adults seem to think they can bully to force their own way. Sometimes it helps to treat other people with respect.

Agreed. I've been with Openweb on and off (currently off) over the past few years and I've found that a simple phone call or email to Mr Beep/Keoma has solved all my problems even when Openweb were well within their rights to tell me to f**k off.

In my experience, it's always better to exhaust all reasonable avenues with a company before making a dispute public.

I definitely agree.

I've been with OW for two years now in total, and they're always willing to help out clients. They very least one could do is be nice to them and ask nicely if help is needed.

Meh, I can't say I'm entirely fond of the idea of having to give 30 days notice, but a contract's a contract. If they're lenient to one person, they have to be lenient to everyone.

True.

It's standard across many services and companies. At the end of the day the company providing the service needs to protect themselves from a potential loss of income.
