Sounds like my ideal data usage. Cost on a 2mb line inc rental?

Hi Guys,

I am almost 2 years in the Republic and the only thing i miss about holland is the simple and fast internet. I think South-Africa is 15 years behind with the speed and the service.

I now have a AXXESS 30G capped connection and from day one it works brilliant and i have no issues with that, i was looking for an uncapped connection and i have read a lot about uncapped connections being "Shaped" and "Throttled" and especially about OW, i prefer not to be shaped and throttled or that my account is shared and such.

My question is : does an uncapped 4 till 10mb line that doesn't get shaped or throttled for a good price exists here?

And my second question is : is Openweb capped just as promising (!) as their uncapped connections and does anybody here has experience with OW capped, regarding speed, service, troubles etc etc.

Well, I signed up for a capped account with openweb.

To my surprise, The accounts are limited to 10mbps speeds, on my 40 meg line, I get 9,39mbps download speed on speedtest.

They are complete ****ing crooks, all they do is steal peoples money. No two ways about it. Since WHEN does a CAPPED UNSHAPED account get limited to 10mbps ????

That I did not know. Yeah first time I see they are limited to 10Mbps. I only have a 10Mbps so did not notice it. Hopefully you did not signup for a big capped account.

Edit: I just saw they mention up to a maximum of 10Mbps in the faq. I think that is why they are offering the uncapped after hours. Must be.

On another note. You have a 40Mbps line. You lucky fish

Mine is R295 excl Telkom, speed is up to 40 mb, that is what they told me, so lets see, 2mb probably cheaper.
