I paid for my account yesterday and emailed them proof. 2 Emails later, I still haven't received word on anything from them.

If there's a delay in setting up the account, that's fine, as long as someone let's me know. Right now there's just no response from them. What's going on with OpenWeb?

I'm intending to work a weekend, so you should receive your details in a few hours.

Apologies,

Thanks,

WHat's going on with the support? - just saw there's a couple of other threads with the same problem.

MrBEEP is on a training course this weekend and I had a bit of an accident yesterday afternoon.

Our other staff will soon rectify the situation. Again, sorry that this is affecting your service.

Regards,

I, technically, also have this problem. Although, I paid two months ago for last month's service. Openweb didn't acknowledge my proof of payment(and hence no service) and they were constantly unavailable on the phone. Although, I only tried to phone near the end of last month because I had recently had a lot of work.

Good thing, I decided to use my measly MWeb cap sparingly last month.

I haven't paid for this month, so is it possible to have the payment for last month bought forward to be used for this month?

Last time I asked about this I was told that it is not possible however wait for an official answer incase things changed

As a backup option get yourself a WebAfrica Prepaid account which can rollover @ R35/GB local or R70/GB Local/International
Also while you have one of these you can order a Openweb account and since its the start of the month you can wait patiently and they will deal with you.

Had 1GB which lasted 4 months which really helped out alot :)

Telkom can learn a thing or 2 from them

Hi Brenden,

I just processed your account. Again, apologies for the delay.

I totally agree.

I have been with Openweb since I upgraded to ADSL, and I think they are a great business.

Sadly it took them just under 24 hours to sort out why I could not connect. I sent emails, and after no response I tried to phone, but could not even leave a message as the "mailbox is full". If I did not have a WA prepaid, I would have been stuck.

I do think the challenge for Openweb is how to handle the growth and this will determine whether they continue to be a top class ISP or not. They are not the cheapest, but their support has been excellent in the past, so I do hope this was a glitch and we will soon go back to reading only good things about them again. :)

Hopefully as they hire more staff, they will also extend support hours and install a landline to improve support access.

I know their support on IRC is pretty good. :)
I got connected outside of office hours (Saturday night) - thanks Equinox.

Well, I had some trouble signing up, but it was all taken care of. Was actually my own fault. I asked my PA to Fax the application form and proof of payment. She went and faxed to some oke in Welkom or somewhere instead of the Fax number on the application.

IS is gonna lose customers..... Due to lack of international speed....

Seriously, news server is dead, international is dead. Whats going on?
