OpenWeb R99 Uncapped 1 meg

Im afraid no-one was to expect the influx of signups. However, we are sorry to hear that.

blunt: It will be published on our front page before the end of the week.

I'm sorry but to me this is completely wrong. The email did not state any other condition besides signup until 16 Feb 2012.
If you stated that there is a limit of 200 accounts I would have accepted it but since it did not state that I feel you should provide the service to anyone signing up by end of today as specified in your email.

To me this is false/misleading advertising.

Welcome to MyBroadband Thed! We feel quite honoured that your third post ever on the forum is dedicated to OpenWeb.

In the future, we will specify the amount of accounts available as well.

No need to be sarcastic. I read this forum regularly but don't always post.

Maybe you should spend time rectifying your mistake and stop trying to mitigate it with a sarcastic post

I do apologise for welcoming you to the forum.

I am glad to see you are an avid reader of the forums. I must however disagree. I do not feel it was a mistake offering the cheapest 1Mbps uncapped package to ever be offered! We will repeat this offer again. As per my previous thread, we will include the available accounts on the original email.

This is why I seldom post. You are missing the point completely. Now I understand why you did not define your email properly.

The email should have stated all conditions, that’s the mistake not the pricing.

A prime example of a dog who caught up with the car he was chasing and then did not know what to do with it. :D

I have to agree with Thed on the sarcasm part .... I think it was unwarranted and rather unprofessional!!!

I'm personally as happy as a pig in s hite with my OW uncapped after hours package but I agree, there is something rather unsavory re this special offer.

The special was emailed at 1am this morning and before 6.30am was sold out. A forumite was told at 6.45am that the offer was sold out. So 1am-6am, 200 subscriptions sold at an average 40 per hour!!!!

BS!!!!

Any excuse for the trolls to come out. And boy do they come out!

It is for this reason that ISPs are reluctant to offer specials. 200 people will be saving R200 per month each for the rest of their lives. In my opinion, this deserves praise, not bashing

200 happy customers; thousands of unhappy customers.

Wonder how many will be unhappy enough to change ISPs? :p

Did you manage to get the special?

As already mentioned, people (myself included) don't have a problem with specials. What we do have a problem with is changing the goal posts later on i.e. no mention of only 200 accounts being available in the original email. Is that clear enough for you?

I didn't apply for the special, as I am happy with my Gold account.

What people (yourself included) are complaining about is such a small part of the story, yet you hammer on about it. I prefer seeing the positive side of things, knowing the amount of saving this special brought about.

Alas, a negative person will always be negative. Happy bashing. I am off to download something on my gold account

A small part you say? A agree - only a very small percentage of the people who applied got this package actually got it. The reason being the email stated that qualification was limited to people who applied today NOT 200 accounts.

A lie is still a lie no matter how you try to spin it.

Not that I think anyone would do this but I think technically they could be held liable to honor this offer. It states that this offer is valid for the 16th, nothing about limited accounts, only a limited time.

I also think they should honour all applications as it clearly stated that the offer is for the whole day.

I requested the offer for the R99 pm at 02:14 this morning but according to MR BEEP (Keoma) he only received my email after 08:00. Seriously!!!!

I am currently paying over R200 for a 384kb/s account. So I can see why he wouldn't want to upgrade me to a cheaper price... so let`s blame the mail service... but I am an Openweb user... so ironically my mail was "delayed" by Openweb.

This is the thanks I get after I am in my 3rd year of doing daily speed tests for OpenWeb.

I am disappointed and didn`t think I would be treated like an idiot.

So yeah, THANKS KEOMA
