Okay I have been with Openweb for a while, I have had no real issues. I then see they are advertising really cheap 4mb data for R249 which is way lower than the R399 2mb service. So I ask them if I can upgrade to the 4mb service which is cheaper. They then get an expert to tell me what a crap low end product it is and I should take a R400 and some chance product if I want the same quality of service. I then do some numbers juggling and realise I am hitting the FUP on the last few days of the month and if I got a 75gb capped account with their free download heaven option I would never be capped/throttled or shaped. So I decide that is the option I would take and to be safe I would take the 100gb service. I then get a message telling me I can only upgrade at the end of the month, I have to give them a months notice to go onto a more expensive product capped product.
I could not make this stuff up if I tried.
So I promptly cancelled the service as there is no benefit for me remaining a customer after the month is up. I can purchase capped accounts month to month from anyone...
So what started as a simple upgrade request ended in me leaving Openweb. And I can honestly say they never really disappointed me on the service they provided. I know they get a lot of bad press, but I had no intention of leaving... Like I said you cannot make this stuff up :p

So all you other ISPs feel free to spam my PM inbox with your cheapest capped prices :)

Did your doctor increase your meds allocation since being with OpenWeb?

I also fell for the "better quality of service" line from them for many months.
It's a stock lie that they feed many of their customers.... when you are just getting the same product as everybody else.

About 3 months ago I was told that I used X amount of data on my uncapped account and when I asked how I can check my usage she said they don't track usage on uncapped. I quoted the email where she told me my usage and silence...

I had an account with them about 3 months ago. I found a very embarrassing bug in their website and reported it to them, and even sent them the javascript code required to fix it. Their usage chart is ripped straight from a HighCharts library example involving nuclear warhead production. They didn't even bother to fix the text.

It's still there. Do they just not care?
