Unfortunately, because we do not have a turn over of R300 000 per year, we cannot register for VAT.

You do not need an over turn of R300k per annum to be VAT registered. This much I know. Now correct me if I'm wrong (and I do stand to be corrected), but for you to be able to sell these accounts, inclusive of VAT, you need to be VAT registered. Or do land laws not apply to the Cyber World? :)

If MrBeep was VAT registered he would charge you VAT for the account (with his profit margin) and submit that to the receiver, at the same time claiming back the TAX on the orginal account that he purchased if im not mistaken. Because he is not VAT registered basically cannot claim back the TAX he spent on the item, at the same time not charge you VAT on the item.

HI Guys

I just started testing openweb and I must say that this is wonderful.I had a 30 Gb WA account and it finished buy the 20th so basically my results are
what I can expect if I sign up.

Only one thing is we donot know the ratio per line.

Can we get more clarity on this NO DOWNLOADING.

What about PDF files/DOC/Excel and all those small files.

Will it not be possible to allow downloads but smaller sizes, like lets say restrict to 2-3 mb files

What about FTPing to you web host that is international,do I have to use a
browser,can I not use a FTP client.

can I only use webmail to check email.I cannot check international mail via POP3.Do I have to give you my server IP for that.

Thank MR Beep
Looks good

We will be blocking downloads via file extensions. PDF, Doc, xls etc will be allowed. But within reason. Eg. If a xls file is 30mb big, then clearly it's not an xls file, unless you were working on it for 4 years. lol....so the system will actively monitor download habits, eg if you are downloading a gigs worth of a certain file extension, your downloading abilities to that file extension will be disabled.

Yes, you can use an FTP client opposed to a browser connection, once again, within reason.

Unfortunately, this is the only way we can offer this service.

dd, you will be able to check international pop3 via the proxy.

thx
MrBEEP

Thanks

Any special settings on outlook express...

One last question:- Is it correct that I can use the proxy settings at 2 con-current locations as opposed to 4 with the IS account.

An IS account, only allows 2 concurrent connections as well.

No

I had a IS account last month and it allowed me 4 con-current...

It now only allows 2 on paper. They changed it unfortunately.

BTW...locally you can download as much as you'd like, at full speeds. When I say no downloads, I am only referring to OpenBROWSE, after you are capped.

Thx

MrBeep

Let say I am on a lan of about 4 Pc's will each of them be allowed to access
the net on openbrowse or only 2 at a time,cause you say 2 con-current connections,hence I ask.

Thanks

Hey dd,

I'm not sure if we are on the same page re: concurrent connections.

When I talk about concurrent connections, I am referring to two different telephone lines, with two different telephone numbers dialing into one account. Do you mean the same?

OpenBrowse can handle unlimited connections, basically, but the 192k bandwidth will then be divided up and shared between those connections.

The IS ADSL account, through a router, can handle as many connections as the router allows.

Sorry if I misunderstood you at first.

Kind regards,
MrBEEP

Hi MrBEEP

Should be getting ADSL any day now, how can I get hold of you for an IS tester?

Thanks a lot

Here is some feedback after using MrBeep's IS test account for 1 hour:

I must say I’m pleasantly surprised!! I quickly tested Skype and P2P downloads. It seems that IS has very little shaping.

Skype:
0% packet loss up and down. With Saix the download packet loss is around 20% (recently it goes up to 50% - rendering it useless)
The roundtrip is 620ms. With Saix it is ±500ms but this helps nothing with a packet loss of 20%+.
The voice quality on IS is excellent! Crystal clear.
Even on testyourvoip.com I got a MOS score of 3 – 3.5. Saix only gets 1.

P2P:
It maxed out my line speed on both Azareus and Limewire.

I’ll definitely be signing with MrBeep up from 1 November, taking into account the "low" cost and all his value adding services (OpenBrowse, etc.)
