First off I have to say what a pleasure it's been using OpenWeb's 4MB Gold Uncapped, that said the past couple of days my international has been acting up a bit.
Anyone else experiencing this?




Local is only slightly slower than usual though.

Hi Supes, I agree fully with your sentiments...I am very unhappy with my account in its current state. Having tried my SAIX account earlier, I'm now convinced the problem is Openweb (I'm using the VB network) and not my line or anything else. Just hope they sort it out, cause I'd hate to move my account elsewhere.

Glad to see you are sorted Redeemer30, but I still maintain that there's serious problem with International. Local seems to be fine. My SAIX account is maxing out my line, as soon as I connect with my vb account its back to half my line speed.

Yeah, it's like this from last night, and this morning.
 
Same here but this morning it wasnt that bad for me.... but now its bad.... local seems fine...i sent a pm to Mr Beep waiting to see what happens...

question guys with a 4meg line.... i applied for one on the first how long did it take for telkom to do the upgrade? i had a 512 before have noticed some speed increase and telkom says they still busy..

I didn't get good download speeds yesterday afternoon and evening on my VB account, although this morning this seem to be much better. Will monitor it throughout the day and see if it holds up. I have to say, I'm really impressed by the speed of the VB accounts, its quicker than my mweb account was. :)
 
After hours uncapped package is running on gas this morning!!!Over all it has been a tad inconsistent and when I say that I mean nothing less than 450kBps but my line is 10mb so 1mb/s is attainable and this morning I'm getting between 750-980kBps... Very sweet indeed...
 
I have been complaining about my line speed since 1st September after I switched to VB. I have to say although a lot of the issues are out of Openweb's control, but Keoma had attended to my requests patiently, and provided temporary solutions don't think other ISPs will be able to match.

I hope next week the VB network will be more stable and consistent.

And this morning, I agree MrBeep goes out of his way to be helpful and provides excellent customer focus support, more than any other company I have been with.

I am on my 4th account in the last 3 days, and it still seems to be a problem. Currently on VB, and the quality is very poor apart from the fact that it is half speed
 
Moved from Afrihost to Openweb on Saturday. Afrihost moved me to IS and downloads went from 42kbps to fluctuating between 7 - 14kbps. I decided enough was enough. Moved to Openweb. The first day was cool. 42kbps on all download sites and newsgroups. . Second day, fluctuating between 8kbps to 21kbps max! Tried a Multiupload download. All hosts download at the same speed - between 8 & 21kbps. I thought mabe it was just Megaupload, Rapidshare or Zshares's fault. But not all 3 could be experiencing problems on the same day. tried newsgroups (Giganews) and am experiencing the same. Browsing the net, I get 42 kbps. (even Youtube)

Thought it was maybe just a Sunday thing. But no! Tonight (Monday) it's the same - 8 - 21 kbs on any download from any major hosting site.

This is the 386 unshaped lite account. I have not - not been able to move more than 1,8gb since I signed up. What gives? Is the lite account shaped that badly? Or are all download hosts including newsgroups having a bad 2 days? yes... 1.8gb might seem a lot for a 386 line, but I have a lot of backlog because of Afrihost and their IS shaped to death deal. Surely not ?!?
