How does one know if they are in the 20% or 80%?

I sent a mail when I felt that my download speed was very low. Got told then that I was in the 20%. Don't know of a way to see on their site that your being throttled.

I'm with the VB backbone and was never informed of those conditions aswell as never signed or agreed on them when signing with OW :) So that better not be the case.

No limites on VB, according to Mr.Beep. But I think Mweb's HTTP shaping policy is better than VB. I am getting immediate full speed HTTP download from DS after 7, before that it's like 100-200. Mweb I used to get full speed or close to full speed during the day as well. Not complaining as I don't use it that much during the day.

Are the Uncapped accounts *R539 4mbit uncapped* also subject to that stupid FUP where if your in the top 50% you get shaped etc.

Severely disappointed in the gold lately - getting average of 80kb/s on nzb's. And I have barely downloaded anything this month. Last month I pulled about 200gigs though.

+1, subscribed to the uncapped after hours package at R899-00, far better product but also not delivering as promised. Not seeing full line speed as often as I thought. In fact it's a rarity. Getting 400kBps but my line is rated to 900+kBps...

It's very similiar to the Axxess 384+ offering but it differs in that there is no rolling threshold during office hours, although it is already running at around 256kbps during office hours. Then after hours is denoted as 7pm-7am and Friday 7pm to Monday morning 7am where Axxess is from 8pm-8am. I like the hour earlier that the OW equivalent kicks in each evening... OW product comes with a 200gig AUP with shaping kicking in once 200gigs has been reached. Apparently Axxess do the same although looking at their Top 10 users list I'm not convinced...

VB is doing 50kb/s at the moment.

I'm assuming both of you are on 4mbps VB backbone. But I know today I was doing 250kB/s (I had speed limited myself)

oh so you have an after-hours full speed account. likely IS based as well. so my hopes from the previous page are ill-founded.

thinking about it, you should do just over (I'm guessing no more than 50GB) what I do on a normal OW Gold VB account if we both max out our lines. What is the cost of the package you are on?

edit: about 30GB if it is anything like the Axxess Uncapped Express+ Package. Coz if you are a heavy downloader, then it is really a 192kbps product during the day hours.

Hey Friends,

There was a fault last night i'm afraid. All should be resolved now. We are currently finishing off our new notice board which will allow folks to keep abreast of the latest network happenings.

I do apologize for the inconvenience.
