Is it a fault with the telkom IPC? Cause my WA account is getting line-speed. not sure where on the telkom network the problem would is, just interested because WebAfrica never seem to have problems when the other ISPs do!

Yeah, just tested an Afrihost account.... line speed for me too.
 
It is a backbone fault caused by Telkom. I believe one of the links are down due to a cable break. Sigh....
 
Just got back from 2 weeks of brilliant football-related travel to find diabolical speeds, even for my 384 line. Was just about to crack a huge whine, but I see it's not just me. Thanks as always for keeping us posted, Keoma. Hope it gets sorted soon!
 
eems to be an IS issue I think because between me and my mate have tested telskum + WA + afrihost and mweb and all seem to work perfectly.. Don't see how it could be a telkom problem if they're all working... Unless its specific to the IS IPC?

Yeah, same here. I got 30KBps overnight (75% linespeed).
Down to 15-20KBps now. <edit>

Speeds are fine now :)

Strange, just got one of these accounts and it is very frustrating. WebAfrica and Telkom are running full speed, just my new Openweb account that is crawling. Damn.

MrBeep, any further news? My speed is crawling?

EDIT: At 02:00 this morning I was getting a speed of over 3Mb/s but now I am down to this again? :mad:

guys how are speeds on the 4mbit accounts?
Tempted to dip my toes and get one again if the experience has improved

Yes my speed increased after the bit of server-side magic yesterday :P

argh! Im so torn right now.
I tried openweb 4mbit awhile back and was kinda over constantly emailing Mr Beep about speed issues on the standard product.
