I have to say too that for the past week my account has been unbelievable, I increased my linespeed to 4mb/s but I still only use OpenWeb 384K uncapped (non Gold), and my news servers have been running 50K during the day and 100K - 300K at night, I'm pretty chuffed! Keoma has definately made a permanent customer in me! :twisted:
 
HI Keoma I have we are experiencing alot of Delay issues and speed issues this side, anyway you can take a look at my account and see whats happing, getting like 15KB/s on downloads. and games are lagging alot.

OW Gold Uncapped 4Mbps (Vodacom) on torrents seems to be bad. getting 30kB/s on a torrent with seeds 24(48)

Thankfully I hardly use torrents. But I would think this is shocking if I did.

As explained before, The Vodacom Business Gold accounts are not for your torrents downloaders. I would suggest you request to be moved to a different Gold network for this purpose.

VB is made for reliability and fast HTTP and similar access.

Anyone else having niggles on international? Mine works, then stops... works, then stops... now it's dead.
On Gold, IS network.

No. It looks like only parts of IS are
affected. Try getting a new IP.
 
Friendly reminder to all and sundry that mods do patrol these waters. I delete a small flame fest here just now but next time folks think to get personal... infractions will be harsh and swift...
 
Anyone else also received an email today from OW stating that if you run a Mweb based Gold Uncapped account that you will be issued with a new username and password ?

Dear OpenWeb Gold User,

From 1 September 2010, we will no longer be making use of the Mweb network for our Gold Uncapped ADSL service.

As a result, we will be moving all our Gold Uncapped users to our new Gold network. The new network offers features beyond the scope of the Mweb ADSL network, and feel that this move will benefit our Gold subscribers.

Firstly, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience that the move will cause. But believe the benefits will far outweigh any inconvenience caused.

We will be emailing each user their new account details on the last day of August. You will be issued with a new username and password. These details you will need to enter into your router before 1 September, to avoid being disconnected from the internet.

As we will have more control over the new network, the user experience will be much improved over what Mweb can currently offer.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this will cause you and would like to thank you for your understanding.

OpenWeb Gold has evolved, thank you for being part of the evolution.

I just hope I get placed on a proper backbone, because I really had excellent latencies with my Mweb gold uncapped account and my HTTP speeds were flying. :(

oh i hardly use torrents so i have o problem with that.

just would have thought at that time of night i would see better speeds. its the first torrent i have tried so it may have been the issue.
 
My Openweb uncapped account has been dead since yesterday, anyone else having a problem?

Wonder if they'll do an "afrihost" and move subscribers over to an IS-based service where you're throttled to death on certain protocols and servers except for 3 hours in the middle of the night.
