How's the general vibe today?

My nntp is coming down at sub 20KB/s on a 4Mb Gold (IS) account :(

Where are you?
My IS intl is better than the weekend, but today my line is groggy....
A guy I know in Durbs is struggling with IS and Mweb atm (60KBps on a 4Mb).

I'm in Pta. My line was generally fine over the weekend. Today, it's down the tubes.

It's really like I've been moved onto some after hours account by accident :(

Code:
Pinging games.saix.net [196.43.22.222] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 196.43.22.222: bytes=32 time=119ms TTL=242
Reply from 196.43.22.222: bytes=32 time=120ms TTL=242
Reply from 196.43.22.222: bytes=32 time=121ms TTL=242
Reply from 196.43.22.222: bytes=32 time=116ms TTL=242
I usually get 29~32ms. I do think something's weird.

Hmmm....getting kinda fed up with the IS brokebackbone :/

How's VB for gaming? I aren't seriaaz 1337 competitorz, but I still prefer a decent connection.

On 4mbit Gold (IS backbone) http/torrent are just peaking 100kb/s my side.
Was maxing out over the weekend though

Hey Friends,

There are currently ALOT of regional Telkom errors open. This will affect clients in different areas and on different ISP's and networks. I'm afraid we will have to sit this one out, as Telkom is apparently attending.

ETA: Unknown

Great, now it will never be solved :x

MrBEEP how do I change from a VB to a IS backbone ?

Guys,

Is it recommended to go to the IS backbone? I do gaming and some downloading not a lot. I normally do under 20gigs a month.

I'm currently on VB on my new Openweb account and have to say the gaming is good, so far, nice latency and no worries. I'm just worried changing to IS to get the downloads will be the wrong choice.

Any advice?

I'm doing about 10gb of torrents per month, would I be better of on the IS network? I don't care if it runs at 20kbps.

I'm currently on the dsl-bcsnet network.

I am on the 41.xx.xx IP adress I think that is dsl-bcsnet network as well, which is the VB backbone...not sure all these things confuse me ;P

SO SLOWWWWW!!! :( Telkom better fix whatever is broken quickly. Even loading MyBB takes forever.

Ok, so either Telkom fixed their crap, or something really strange is afoot.

I'm doing Ubuntu updates at near full line speed :/

on 4mbit gold over I.S on my side, http and torrents hitting just shy of a 100kb/s, will nag Mr Beep tomorrow though :P

Hey Friends,

Anyone using IS will experience slow speeds due to them losing two of their IPC links due to a Telkom hardware failure.

They are working on sorting this out asap!

Hi MrBeep,

When will openweb's website be updated with the new 1024 packages, specifically on the standard?

Thanks

I've got the standard uncapped R539 - downloading at 20kb per sec at the moment 8:45pm.. will this explain the speed?

Anyone else experiencing extremely slow speeds on VB network?

One way of knowing that the internet is messed up, is by trying to stream something. Pretty much gave up when after 60 seconds of waiting only 1 second of 360p video loaded :wtf:
