Hey Friends,

There are currently two unrelated faults causing some speed issues for some clients.

Engineers are attending.

ETA: 2 hours
 
My @dsl-bcsnet account seems to be unaffected. Streaming audio at 128k, downloading from filesonic at 34k... browsing snappy... maybe I am just lucky for a change !

It is affecting a few of our networks. Please drop me a mail, I would like to move you to IS until the storm passes.

Naa i will let it go for a couple days and see, been treating me well so i will drop you a mail on wednesday if things are still a bit off.
 
Also on a vb.co.za Gold (1mb) account here and experiencing some really odd issues. NNTP has taken a slight knock (10-15kb/s) and HTTP is suffering big time. Speedtest returned a 0.18mbs upload and 0.48mb/s upload result.
 
I just ordered myself one of the promo 384 uncapped bundles from Openweb. I would love the gold account, but seeing as I have to pay for my ADSL myself, I can't afford it. I'm not too worried about downlaod speeds, although if it is ridiculously slow I'll moan. What I'm more worried about is how badly do they shape online games? I frequently play TF2 and MW2 online, and seeing as an uncapped account allows me much more leeway, I'll probably start playing as much online games as possible. :P Do you get normal latencies for games or is it really bad. If it's horrible, I'm just going to drop back down to a capped account with tons of topups. Only problem I had with that was that my topups usually ended up costing way more than an uncapped account would have cost me.

Well there are the new Afrihost R15.00/GB capped Prepaid available. Maybe worth a try. I think I am going to trial it some.
