Giving this account 1 more week to let up before I make the decision to cancel. Was running beautifully this weekend, but down the drain again now. I don't want to have to constantly moved between backbones, I want a permanent fix, and seeing as my account is heavily shaped, that permanent fix isn't coming. I'm gettting heinuous pings, and restarting my router lowers them...for 5 minutes before they shoot intot he air again. Unfortunately the OpenWeb Gold is just out of my pricing range, so I'll try Mweb next, see if I strike lucky there, if not, I'll just go back to a capped offering.
If I decide to cancel, it'll be a pity, because I really like all the effort MrBeep puts into ensuring customer satisfaction, and he does an excellent job of it. Unfortunately, I can't work with an account that I can barely use during the day.

How's streaming on IS during the day? First day with openweb and streaming on VB is not so grand.

Off-topic: Is cableguy an OpenWeb employee or just a giant fanboi? Reading through his post history, it seems to consist entirely of him bashing people expressing concerns with Openweb or him badmouthing Mweb. He blows his top at the slightest negative thing somebody says about OpenWeb. Take a read through his post history if anybody has the time, it's rather interesting.

That's just it, though. You've never said a logical word on this site in your life. It's always just 'wah wah wah, leave OpenWeb alone, wah wah your valid complaints are invalid wah'. Anyways, I'm not here to insitgate a fight, I just found it equally interesting and suspicious when I browsed through your posting history. I'm out now. Have a nice day further.

Okay, so Steam download speeds that used to be awesome last month and up until yesterday never go past 15kb/s. Great start to a month. High pings, poor download speeds. Can't think of a better start.
Can you seriously not read? Recheck my post and stop trying to be arrogant.
Oh wait it just seems like he likes moaning and attacking people. Will just ignore him then.

i'm looking at the openweb gold 1Mb account, how is this any different than any other? Surely you will still get shaped, throttled etc or is it a definite better service for the extra 126 rand?
Im resetting the router on the hour every hour just to get decents speeds.. as time goes on, speeds deteriorate and eventually everything grinds to a halt..
Im on IS.. as of late, weekend speeds peaked at 150kb/s with the wind behind it..

Note: Only way I can get FTP, etc to max out is with multiple threads :/

I thought my pings would be better at night. Guess not. Still getting 700 pings on local gaming servers. It makes me want to cry, because the account was near-perfect over the weekend.
