I don't get the IS issues. My after hours uncapped on IS pretty much runs between 60-100% on all protocols.

Gimme a good torrent site please that is decent without password's for all the crap. Nothing worse than all those bloody password torrents

Vodacom Business torrents do not work afaik.

My download speeds are usually ok on IS, but lately the latency especially is horrible.

And I've done the whole 30 min router off thing and even contacted Telkom to test my line and recreate the port and blahblahblah
 
My torrents on VB cap off at 7kb/s. Can't squeeze more than that out of it.

Other than that, my account is still running perfectly. Been getting perfect download speeds on Steam all day. Very rarely went below 30kb/s. This account is running like a boss.
 
Around what time can I expect nntp to get good speed on Altech?

After hours though, IS have heavy shaping during the day. Mrbeep changed me from altech to IS and it was horrific during the day. Nothing would load, line speed was gone. :eek: then i got the vb account from heaven.

On altech you can expect full speed after hours and around 20-30 during the day perhaps less for news stuffs but you will have the best browsing and streaming connection i have ever used.

Ok on the roll with a torrent, let's see how much i can do by the morning.

A movie with 4000 seeders and 10000 leechers. Seem pretty darn bad hey, not even 1kb yet. Looks like vb is not the BB for torrents.

Yeah, regarding IS. If I encounter issues with my account, and I have the option to move to IS, I won't take it. Easily even worse than Mweb.
 
If my router doesn't resync, this will be the norm :) on IS for the whole night. Others on IS, can you report similar (10MB users?)

I was given a bcs-net account today.
Http and web browsing is awesome. But I have also
Been downloading off the news server and been getting approximately 0.5 to 1kb/s. Waiting to see if it jumps up at any point tonight as I asked for an account with more lenient shaping. Speed tests show 0.90kb/s on my 1meg line.
Any one else with a bcs account and using news servers that can share their experience?

@brianssj100, Look forward to hearing some feedback. Sucks at the moment for NNTP but i also hope your speeds go up.

Though that speedtest.net result is scary, can you run a mybroadband speedtest? http://goo.gl/EE7dt
 
Is anyone having a problem with their Altech Gold account not connecting this morning? Mine worked fine last night but this morning it does not accept my login details when I try to connect.
 
Yeh... my connection is flying...strangely, I get better speeds during office hours than after hours with VB.

Indeed, my NNTP downloads are flying at 950kb/s at the moment \ :D /

EDIT: Hitting 10MB/11MB speeds every now and then.

Sup. That result was on the myBB Speed test, Local and international were around 0.90kb/s


As for bcs-net on nntp, it sucked....plain down. it didnt connect till around 5 or 6am, and ran till 7.45am, just enough to get just over a gig of data. and then cut off again. Browsing and http gave no issues.
