My username is an @openweb.co.za one. I take it that is IS?

My problem is that fact that all is well for a while on any account and the issue creeps in slowly towards the end of the month. The previous account (also @openweb.co.za) worked perfectly for an entire month after Keoma deleted and recreated my account. Suddenly by month end the "shaping" issue I described crept in and made itself comfortable right through into the new month at which time I requested a new account. Unfortunately this time it didn't work.

EDIT: Typical of Murphy's Law I've just reconnected to NNTP and my downloads are flying for the first time this month @ this time of day

Why the hell will Outlook not download e-mails with attachments bigger than 2mb?

WTF!!! 2.67mb of 3.54mb and dl stops!!!!!

News servers running full speed.

Router switch off DOES NOT WORK!!!

It may not be outlook that has the problem, go check your mail box and clear the mail if it's stuck or download the attachment and then delete it to clear the block :D

Do you need to use outlook for a reason because thunderbird is insane.

It is not outlook. Was able to DL another attachment from my mail and it worked, used my Afrihost PP account.

All this started the weekend. Everything was running smooth from 30 June.

telscum's 0800 375 375 now only works during office hrs.
 
Howsit. Can anyone with 1meg lines tell me what's the usual speed they download from news servers when not being throttled?

Also can someone explain to me why, when I use the download speed limiter on alt.binz, and then switch back to no limit, my speeds to to like 450-500kb/s, and then level back down to it's usual speed of 100kb/s.

But on the bright side, we have uncapped at under R1k and can still download just much longer "sigh" :)

Sadly it seems I will have to try other options...it has been a week and the daytime speed is non existent. My wife works from home and I can't carry on like this. I expected a bit better than this when I upgraded to gold. I don't do downloads during the day (only on the odd occasion) and getting 0.02mb/s is not enough for basic office work on it

Yup phoned them, they refresh port synching at 600, the guy says there is a lot of traffic and that is why :eek:.

Sounds a bit dodge, if it's not right by tomorrow i think i better log a fault
