Will be sad to see you go, but yeah.
I do know however Telkom will not be limiting local data, but Intl.... yeah, different case there.

Edit....
For 1Mbps
6AM to 6PM: Up to 472kbps
6AM to 10PM: Up to 767kbps
10PM to 6AM: Up to 1Mbps
No restriction on local traffic

Eish.... 384 during the day? No thanks :p

Well hopefully the release a 4MB account... thing is - I'll be happy with those speeds if its hassle free, i.e. not having to change accounts constantly, reboot router, etc etc.

All of my stuff is automated because I'm not at home long enough to manually search for what I need.

Openweb Gold is great when it works - but I honestly don't have the time for the maintenance required on the account... and the maintenance gets even more tiresome when you send an email regarding the speed - and then get a reply asking what your username is, even after you've been in-contact with Openweb for months.... you think they'd know what accounts are assigned to what users.

Here is the article. R2k for a 4/10mb account? Ouch.

Not the 2k one - That's unrestricted - I'm sure they'll release a restricted account in the coming months... probably priced about R750.

Ah ok. Well for R750 I would still rather stick to the OW Gold account.... but then you're stuck with the see-saw again :D

Well my openweb account is performing at the moment- its on the see part of saw :p sitting at 400KB/s.

Even if I could afford spending 2k on uncapped (well R2400 then actually), it's a lot of money to spend on downloading stuff.

I can afford to but there is no way in hell i could justify it, as it is i can download 300gb a month without much issues. I don't see what more i could download in all honesty.

As it is today i am all of out of downloads, i could load 100gb in rubbish just for the sake of downloading but not sure why i would waste bandwidth for nothing.

Exactly. And then you'd be downloading stuff you'd never use, and be browsing slower because you're using all your speed for downloads.

It would be great if an ISP releases a capped product of around 250GB for around 700 unshaped :p

Indeed. Problem is however, the accounts aren't sold on a "usage" based account. They get sold per product and the hope is that they aren't utilised to their full potential (hence shaping)..... so this would have to come from IS, VB, etc.

Yup like some months i won't even do 100gb, other months i will nail 300gb just depends on the season. Like series season = high usage.

200gb's worth of series??!! haha pull the other one!! It's porn dude, in season all year round...

No way dude, goodness me that is way too much porn. My 2.5"er would never cope with that kind of abuse :D.

200gb in series is about right. Every week i download 15-20 different all in the region of 1-2gb let's say 30gb a week x 4 = 120gb, if family members request series i don't watch as well i download those. So it's not every month and not exactly 200gb but most of my downloading is series, where the season is off i doubt i even do 70gb a month.

Might not be 200gb but it can easily get to that. Most 1 hour series are 1.5-2gb a piece.

I think the 2k telkom account is aimed at businesses.... love the way the article says 500GB is excessive :p

I keep up with my series and use Steam and don't hit 200gigs. So I think 500gigs is fair.

It is indeed, assuming you don't have a taste for 1080p movies. I can get to 500GB easily (assuming a 4mb line) if I take everything in HD+ format.
But yeah, 500GB is actually more than enough, especially sustained.
