What games do you play? It might be region(ipc) related but my experience was that on normal capped you will get local pings of 100+.

Afaik this is a translation on priorities:

best effort = none/zero
meduim = dead during most of the day
good = 1/10th your line speed
high= low
veryhigh = meduim
top = high.

So you can quickly work out with my translation if it is bad or not :P

Edit I see your talking about business uncapped NOT WHAT OP WAS TALKING ABOUT. the packages can NOT be compared (titanuim to gold) I am on the same tier as you and it is too expensive and just not worth the price.

My son plays quite a few games on both PC and Xbox.
I play Xbox only, and there its Advanced Warfare or Forza 5 (int).

Edit : I was not responding to op. Just your post.

I would say Openweb capped account. It is unshaped 24/7 yeah even p2p is unshaped during business hours.....

Do not touch their uncapped products as that is a total lie.

Can you even see your ping in consoles? We have basically the samge package. However you pay R899 for 200gb of gold data while I pay R399 for 2meg uncapped gold data. I currently use a capped vox account for counterstike and other fps as the ping is 12 on vox and 40 on webafrica. It is a massive difference for a server fairly close to me.

Vox will give me what I need for R300 and if I need I can just top up. :)

I pay R599, but I also have a 6Mbps line. A 2Mbps package would not work for me.
I was on their R399 package, but 120GB was chomped up by mid month. Had to upgrade to the 200GB package. Netflix is out primary means of TV, so data is used fairly quickly.

No - can't see the ping, but can feel lag. I don't have issues playing FPS games locally.

As mentioned earlier, location also plays a role. When on Afrihost and they started going downhill, I still maintained a pretty good gaming connection while lots of mates were starting to lag bad. Think I just have a good spot.

WebAfrica has been the best ISP I have used in a long while.
 
Hey Hiro,

I've never had a days issue with OpenWeb and have nothing but praise for them. Been with 'em for a few years now, since 384k days to 1mbps, 2mbps and now 4mbps.

The two guys have arrived in the thread. But yes if you go with OW after being warned please don't come moaning when things go wrong. Them not being registered like other ISPs with the relevant organisations should be enough of a warning.
 
Just stay away from OW, Best advice I can give you.

Not saying I'm looking for something basic but since 50GB data sees me through the month easy with uncapped after hours data I see no point in paying R395 for 120GB because some of it will just expire.

You capped accounts are well priced it's just they start high and not everyone is looking for tons of data always.

Not a fan of openweb but their 50GB capped unshaped account I can recommend as a account because it is well unshaped and it is a pretty decent account. Unshaped 24/7 it is awesome. Did not need support just yet so I guess that might not be top notch but I'm happy with the account so far.
