Well, i just got capped, and now everything is screwed. I'm on a 3GB-27GB account, and i can't frikken do anything now. I DO have openbrowse, but i can't do anything. GMail won't open, i can't upload pics to photobucket (but aparently openrouter can help me there) and browsing internationally is frikken slow as well.

Also, whoever i spoke to from openweb is a frikken liar. I told that person that "I AM A COUNTER STRIKE SOURCE PLAYER, WILL I BE ABLE TO PLAY AFTER MY FIRST 3GB?!" And the person said yes.

Man, i can't even OPEN steam.

Can anybody please help me on setting up openrouter to use photobucket and Gmail?

Dae_Ja_Voo,

Please ensure that you have allowed OpenRouter through your firewall.

Also make sure that the software has accepted your username and password.

Please email me directly on [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help you.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

I would also suggest taking it up direct rather - mrBeep does seem to be capable of handling things. It may also just be an IS international problem (there are clouds over gauteng....).

Well, i CAN'T email you because i can't access GMail. But i will drop you a PM.

"Steam won't work with OpenRouter as it makes use of UDP packets which wont work through the proxy."

According to ant1b0dy in another thread:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=50459

So was i supposed to go searching for that post before signing with openweb? No. The guy/gal i spoke to from openweb told me that playing Source would NOT be an issue, and now it's 2 weeks before i can play again, OR i have to get ANOTHER ADSL account.

I also just found that browsing Systemshock.co.za is almost impossible. If i open a like on that site to a thread, it takes about 5 minutes to load...

That slow browsing is probably the fault of IS and not openweb, they're having some speed issues at the moment. You should keep the openweb account and get yourself a webafrica prepaid account (R75 per gb) which carries over to the next month. Use that to open steam and then use CS through openweb. If you want both connections open at the same time you need to install raspppoe and routesentry to route local and international traffic through the different accounts.

Wow, i was unaware that you could do this.

Can i ask you a favour? Is there ANY way you'd be willing to PM me a guide or just a little explanation on doing this?

ummm, that was the guide. :p
ill pm you when i get home, but im sure theres enough help somewhere on this forum, you should search for it

To be totally honest with you, the guy that you spoke to was called Kyle, and his contract has recently been terminated with OpenWeb.

I publically apologise for the inconvenience you suffered due to him giving you the incorrect information.

No problem Mr Beep. Thanks for your help.

By the way, YGPM.

How is that interesting? It's old news.

It's to show that Steam and proxies don't work, but thanks for pointing out that it's not interesting - your contribution is appreciated. :)

Using RouteSentry when one of my connections connect the other gives this error:

16/08/2006 16:53:29 error: TelkomInternet Shaped -> 633 The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly.

You must use raspppoe dialups and you must set the raspppoe number of wan endpoints to 2 (it's in the raspppoe properties). If you'd read the instructions you would have seen this. :)

I just installed and went GO GO GO... and then it didnt work :p

ant1b0dy, is it safe putting your username and password into applications such as the ADSL Stats Analyser you have on your page?

Where am I suppose to change the maximum thingy to 2 for the PPPOE?

Okay, i got just about all the problems solved. I can do just about everything EXCEPT play CS: Source (which is the reason i took this account in the first place...)

Thanks to Mr Beep for helping me get Openrouter running. I can now access Gmail, use Gtalk, upload images to photobucket, etc etc etc.
