Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising

I played that one last night (on PS3). There is a building in the south, where you can walk to the first floor and then you have a slightly better view. I ordered my squad to defend the area by the house and then stayed in the house until the end and just shoot from the house.

This is where some squad members wondered away and got killed. If you look south you will see some tree lines on the right, just be careful some enemy troops walk around below the tree lines and take out your support from behind.

I got through it! Last night at 1 am lol, died about 5 times, which is a painful experience every time in Opflash :) Now on to the next mission, taking the airfield after work today!

Local servers are on the way with Igame.

The game doesn't even have dedicated server support, so it would be impossible for them to host servers for it. Even Spartan said so himself -> http://forum.iburst-gaming.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=99bcb797b6aa0dd436076e157c12c976&topic=1901.0

Let's hope the new patch add dedicates server support, cause me and my clan mates have had good fun hosting our own games and playing.

BTW, if you host a LAN game, other people will be able to join your game via the IP Connect function, you don't need to be on the same LAN ;)

PS: If you're running RS, the host needs to disable it as others won't be able to connect, he can't re-enable it either, because the clients will dc. Clients connecting however can leave RS on.

how are the graphics compared to BF2,and the chopper flying,im a huge fan of battlefield but something a little more serious sounds cool

Just got my copy, Installing it now. In the booklet is says that it is best to host it with dedicated server. So I think the information you might have is a bit wrong.

However I did not try it yet so I can be wrong. Cant wait to play it MP. But the recommended settings is hectic 3Mbps upstream needed for 32 players

played the first 4 missions last night.. I like it alot, but it wont be for all people.. I still think the AI squad members could be better, just as in the first game.. Sometimes difficult to see the enemy clearly as well but their AI tactics are very realistic (most of the time...)

noticed there weren't too many online games on when i had a quick look last night, which was a little dissapointing..

Played the first 3 or 4 missions aswell last night.

Very tactical, You cannot run mad into a battle and kill 50 enemy's
I agree with AI Squad Memebers, they are a bit stupid at times.

I saw the enemy AI was trying to flank me yesterday and they layed suppresive fire on my squad.

What impressed me was the sniping realism. Shoot above the head and wait a second or so before you drop the Enemy.

Sad that there is not alot of online activity yet, I saw about 20 games last night and its not from SA so latency 300+.

It looks as if you host and players join before you start, which is a bit dissapointing. Would have been better if the map starts and players can join and leave.

BTW, running everything on full graphics. It simply looks superb. But I have seem a bug with the smoke grenades when it goes in between the leaves of the trees it looks strange.

At the second last mission now, loved this game, seriously good, I also like how "clumsy" the 360 controller feels, very good game!

9/10!

But ya this game def appeals to a certain market of gamers, I reckon the older sort. Its a full on military sim, just like its daddy, brilliant though regardless. Def a PC purchase for me, the mods will be insane.

You guys should spend some time reading the official forums for OF : DR

There is so so so so much drama going on... I just laugh at 'most' of the threads.

It seems that alot of people are taking Codemasters etc (who made the game) to 'their' version of "ASA"

Classic! :)

But, if you sit and look at the posters who put effort into making their voices heard, you can clearly see that ALOT of what was promised is NOT in the final product.

StoneCold, how would you rate the multiplayer? Is it lekker?

It is lekker yes, the CO-OP is massive fun and the other two game modes, annihilation and infiltration are also good. The only negative aspect though are the P2P hosting (no dedicated server support) that makes annihilation and infiltration games lag sometimes, but if you have buddies and they host with 4MB (have clan mates that do) then the game is awesome fun. But the sooner Codemasters release dedicated server files (they need to quickly!) the better, otherwise this game is going to die a slow and painful death if they don't get their butts into gear. ;)

Finished the campaign last night, very satisfied, good game, good game.

The COD 4 mod. The way the game should be

I'm sure many of you are tired of all this realism nonsense and want the game to be just like the game we all know and love, COD4. I am planning to make an OFP2 mod that eliminates all elements of realism and plays just like COD4.

All vehicles will be non playable and the map size will be limited to 225 m squared. Of course all weapons will be balanced and the ridiculous bullet drop will be fixed, so the weapons will fire like they are meant to, dead straight. An air strike will be possible with a 5 kill streak and a helicopter with 7, not forgetiing a UAV for the NoObZZ who can only get 3 kills.
