Dolby, have you diced the Gti's? And what was the outcome? Honestly I dont even look at them on the roads, except those done up things mostly driven by Indian(with all respect) guys.
 
Just googled and saw the facelift (read. charge more for parts since most common collision damage area has changed) C30 T5 and what they've done is gone from a car that looks great from the front and terrible from the back to a car that looks terrible from the front AND back :(
 
Never tried a GTI6 - but have tried three different GTI5.

I'm slightly modded (148.7wkw and 357nm) so the standard one was very easy. The two others were both modded, although the one guy didn't want to tell me what he'd done. We were dead even on rolling with me pulling at higher speeds.

The other slaughtered me even though I am modded too. He has 156wkw and a CAI, DP and software. It was DSG so he flew off the line with launch control

Not that I'm making excuses, but the C30 is a relativly heavy car and with 19", I am a little slow on pull off. When I was stock (with large wheels though) I'd get a 7.5 to 100km and a 15.5 1/4 mile @ 152km/h exit speed

If I had to guess now, I,d be early 7s and just under 15 second 1/4 mile
 
And looks do depend on taste - as I say, everyone prefers my cat to an ST or GTI. I'm often stopped by strangers to ask about it and get comments everywhere I go.

Say what you want but the C30 R Design better looking to most people out there than a *cough* GTI ;)
 
I must say I still prefer the GTI but I saw a C30 in black today and damn it looks good in black :)

Shame hard to have respect for your Volvo then...
I raced a new T5 today... I was first off the line, I heard his tyres squek when he changed to 2nd I was still infront, then he just stopped... Weird! Either there was a speed camera somewhere or something else happened...
I didn't expect to beat him Dolby son... And not everyone preferS your car to a GTi, otherwise they would have bought it!!! Lil Twilight girls tickling your fancy again.

Statistically speaking :), people are like sheep. They do what the last person did.
Fortunately, there are people like me and my big head, who see past brand names and see the product for what it truly is. I'm not loyal to any brand when it comes to cars.

Unfortunately, because people are like sheep, big brands can keep lowering the quality of their products and sleep at night knowing the masses will always buy from them no matter how much crap it gives them.
 
JK8 can't joke or mess around like others. He always needs to be nasty to people who even remotely point out VW is not *the* only manufacturer out there and refuses to acknowledge that too have faults.

He also annoys me with his race tales that any logical person will tell you aren't true.

I should ignore him and will try from now on, but as an enthusiast, I find myself needing to correct his BS all time.
