Ok new house - will be moving towards the end of the year around September-ish (doing building work not sure of final date)

I need a landline (family calls on special deals from UK to landline only)

I need an internet connection - have 10GB (internet stays on when the limit is reached but just goes super-slow) which is ok, but 20 GB covers even 'mad' usage.

No fibre or LTE in area I'm moving to.

Looking for cheapest and easiest (dealing with two morons is more stressful than one when things go tits up) solution.

Suggestions please.

Please - the information and options out there are genuinely confusing for a fairly non-techy person - I don't even know what half the terms jolly well mean - what the heck is LTE?

I need a FIXED landline - like an old Telkom phone - with buttons - for family - this is not negotiable, so any wireless, wifi, whatever the heck is not an option.

And I need some internet - 20 GB or so at a reasonable speed at the cheapest cost with the easiest way to set up for a person whose idea of easy is plug it in and it works.

Personally I want the least number of people involved in the loop because it gives fewer chances for going backwards and forwards between providers with no help or answers when it inevitably goes wrong (this is a given)

Well, the first thing to find out is if telkom will provision new copper lines in your area.

They generally don't in new areas, and if you need a land line, they are your only option, and if they wont install new copper, you need to become more flexible in your wish list.

Also, ping a mod to move this to the correct section.

Apply for a Telkom line and ADSL and choose the 50GB softcap.

After that go to a Telkom Direct shop and apply for a couple of integrated data SIMs
