Ordering off Aliexpress? Advice?

Just got an email while at work that my order is ready for collection.... But doesn't indicate where to collect from

Probably your local post office
Good Luck

They normally hand scribble on a note you must come collect
This could be anytime
In my area I usually wait a few weeks before I get the notice in my post box at home

Same here. If it doesn't have a local tracking number I have two locations I can pick it up from.
The first I visit for most of my parcels, and lets me check the hand written book.
The second is the main post office in the center of town. For the main PO I usually wait till the "Final Warning" that arrives in post or SMS. This can be 1-2 months. No use going in unless you have a tracking number, as they usually turn me away (even with a tracking number) with a "Wait for the SMS".

The lady at Bellville post office pop's me a sms when I have to collect a package.

Is anyone else being charged exorbitant custom fees for their Aliexpress parcels lately? I've ordered three items and it seems everything is arriving in record breaking time which is awesome, but I've been charged hundreds of rands for items I would ordinarily only pay the R30 or R50 handling fee for...

The 3 times a year for up to R20k is for everything you purchase, not per place. So if you order from Amazon and Alliexpress and Bangood and eBay or whatever it is a total of 3 times a year, January --> December.

Those naais track you by your ID number here
I alternate between my ID and my wifes, can buy up to 6 times.

Very helpful thread! I've ordered something off eBay and it's at my local post office. Problem is the local PO branch has closed down. I can see the exact location but it only gives the location code. How do I find out the location using the ZAXXXXX code?

I have a work colleague who started building a list of these codes for himself.

The only one I know, is ZA15223 which is the Durbanville Post Office.

What number is yours showing?

That would be a handy resource! The code listed is ZA98399, but nothing comes up online.

Tried this one?
Normally a few days after you see the ZA code it will show the PO name

I'm looking at ordering 3 items from Ali which come to R150.

The problem is, they are from different sellers. I'm assuming I'll be charged the post office fee for each package since they dont consolidate. Ridiculous if I'm right

Thanks, that one only shows "DURBAN COUNTER PARCELS". If I go to the Global Track and Trace it gives this location: ZA98399

Yes, you will be charged for each package. Alliexpress does not consolidate.
You are right, but that does not make Alliexpress ridiculous.

Not aliexpress, I was referring to SAPO. I still think aliexpress is extremely cheap. I placed the orders but got like 2-3 items from each store so don't feel the SAPO fees

I think you perhaps have 1 more update to come & then it should show what branch its sitting at.
