Paralympian Oscar Pistorius always made time for children, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.
"He always made time for children, especially for children with disability... he really went the extra mile," Pistorius's manager Petrus van Zyl testified.
He was being re-examined by Barry Roux, for Pistorius.
Prosecutor Gerrie Nel earlier concluded his cross-examination of Van Zyl, during which he questioned Pistorius's motives behind his charity work.
Nel asked if the athlete did charity to market himself and out of an obligation to his sponsors.
On September 12 Judge Thokozile Masipa found Pistorius guilty of the culpable homicide of his girlfriend, model and law graduate Reeva Steenkamp, but not guilty of her murder.
Pistorius had claimed he thought there was a burglar in his toilet when he fired four shots through the locked door in the early hours of February 14 last year, killing Steenkamp. The State had argued he killed her during an argument.
Roux questioned Van Zyl on Pistorius's attitude to his charity work.
"Mr Pistorius made himself always available (sic). He never had any complaints," he replied.
Roux concluded his questioning. Masipa asked her assessors if they had any questions for Van Zyl, before she excused him from the stand.
Roux then called the next witness, probation officer Annette Vergeer. She had short black hair, with a shock of highlights framing her face.
Masipa also found Pistorius guilty of discharging a firearm in public, when he shot from his friend Darren Fresco's Glock pistol under a table at Tasha's restaurant in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg, in January 2013.
Pistorius was found not guilty on two firearms-related charges --

DISABILITY NOT REASON FOR NON-IMPRISONMENT
Oscar Pistorius's disability should not be the reason he is not incarcerated, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Gerrie Nel asked social worker and probation officer Annette Vergeer during cross-examination: "Are you saying that disabled people should not be in prison?"
Vergeer responded: "That is not what I said... what I am trying to say My Lady is that it is more difficult.
"It is difficult for an able [bodied] person. So it will be more difficult for a disabled person."
She told the court that despite his disability, Pistorius coped "very well".
Vergeer said the paralympian's mobility in prison could be impaired when they took away his prosthetic legs.
"[It could be a] case for rape within the prison... gang rape. How can we say that he won't be exposed to that?" she asked.
"Whether his legs are taken away or not taken away, he will be exposed to that."
She added, "you cannot glue his legs to his body".
Nel said that there was no guarantee that Pistorius's legs would be taken away if he went to prison.

JUNE STEENKAMP REJECTED 'BLOOD MONEY'
Reeva Steenkamp's mother June rejected a R375,000 payment from her daughter's killer, Oscar Pistorius, as "blood money", the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.
"She rejects that, she doesn't want blood money," prosecutor Gerrie Nel told parole officer and social worker Annette Vergeer during cross-examination.
She earlier presented her report on Pistorius, which the defence had paid her to compile, to the court. In it she recommended that Pistorius get three years of correctional supervision and community service for killing Steenkamp.
Nel told Vergeer that Pistorius got the R375,000 from selling his car. It was paid into the trust account of the Steenkamp's lawyer.
Nel said he was concerned this was not mentioned in her report.
He asked her when she was told the Steenkamps had rejected the money.
"I can't confirm 100 percent but I think it was yesterday," she replied.
Nel also referred to monthly payments Pistorius had been making to the Steenkamps, as mentioned in Vergeer's report.
"Those moneys will be paid back to the accused in full, every cent," said Nel.
He wanted to know why this was not mentioned in her report. Vergeer replied the report was compiled during the trial.

SO............there are wheel chair bound prisoners in them thar prisons in this country. shocking!!! give those inmates a break and release them with immediate effect. what heinous crimes have they committed, they have shown remorse for their acts because they are wheel chair bound and cannot cope with the prison environment. so sayeth the lady who has visited all prisons round this country some ten years ago and can confirm prison is deplorable and rape is high on the list along with AIDS.

A defence witness was not answering questions put to her in the sentencing procedures of culpable homicide-convicted Oscar Pistorius, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.
"If you were a first time witness one would understand why you are not answering the questions... but you are not a first time witness," prosecutor Gerrie Nel told social worker and probation officer Annette Vergeer under cross-examination.
Nel said Vergeer did not answer various questions he asked her.
She told the court earlier that prisons were over crowded and that there were global open cells in prisons that could have over 30 inmates.
Nel asked her if this applied to sentenced prisoners and she replied that it applied to awaiting trial prisoners.
When he corrected her and said he had a problem with her changing from sentenced prisoners to awaiting trial prisoners, Vergeer briefly giggled.
"You are laughing. Why are you laughing, because this is serious," Nel said.
Vergeer explained that it was her "manner of addressing or saying something" and that it not a sign of disrespect towards anyone.
The prosecutor asked her if she thought it was appropriate.
She said she felt like she was under attack and was just a human being being asked questions.
"If I offended you, I will have to apologise," she said.
Nel responded: "It's not me. You will never offend me."
Vergeer then apologised to the court.
The court heard that Vergeer visited the Johannesburg prison ten years ago and the Krugersdorp prison two years ago. She used this knowledge and consulted wardens and social workers to compile her report on Pistorius.
She said earlier that prisons did not cater for disabled people. She listed showers, cement floors and toilet facilities, among others as reasons.
On September 12, Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide on for the Valentine's Day 2013, shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in his Pretoria townhouse. The court found him not guilty of murdering Steenkamp.

STEENKAMPS PAYING BACK MONEY
The parents of Reeva Steenkamp, who was shot dead by her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius, were going to repay the R6000 monthly payments he made to them, their lawyer said on Tuesday.
"They needed the money, they needed to live, but they are going to pay the money back," Dup du Bruyn told reporters after sentencing procedures in the High Court in Pretoria.
"When he [Pistorius] initially offered the money they accepted the offer because they needed the money but they will return it now," Du Bruyn said.
"When he started giving them money the Steenkamps wanted to disclose it but Mr Pistorius wanted to keep it quiet."
Du Bruyn said the monthly payments started in March last year and the last payment was made in September.
Earlier the court heard that Steenkamp's mother June, rejected R375,000 Pistorius offered the family.

Despite Oscar Pistorius not having a job, the social worker who compiled a report on the paralympian recommended he be sentenced to correctional supervision, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.
"This particular accused you're making special because he doesn't have a job and you don't care," prosecutor Gerrie Nel told Annette Vergeer during sentencing proceedings for Pistorius.
Nel asked her if an accused did not have a job, would it bother her in recommending a sentence.
Vergeer earlier presented her report on Pistorius, which the defence had paid her to compile, to the court. In it she recommended that Pistorius get three years of correctional supervision and community service for killing Steenkamp.
"You can't look at one factor, you have to look at the person in totality," she replied.
Pressed for an answer on what job Pistorius would do, Vergeer said: "We don't know what the outcome of the criminal trial will be."
During the exchange Pistorius's sister Aimee lifted a small blue water bottle to her mouth. The plastic cracked between her fingers.
Pistorius's uncle Arnold took off his glasses, lifted them up to the light, and cleaned them.
"Why did you not ask the accused to be more specific about his future plans?" Nel persisted.
Vergeer said one could not generalise. The evasive reply further exasperated Nel, who pointed out that she had been in court to testify many times before.
"If you haven't given evidence in court I would perhaps have understood," he said.

PRISON CANNOT SECURE OSCAR'S SAFETY
A prison will not be able to secure Oscar Pistorius's safety, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.
"My opinion is that the accused is vulnerable [in prison]. They cannot eliminate his vulnerability and they cannot secure his safety," Annette Vergeer said under cross-examination from prosecutor Gerrie Nel.
"That can be a great danger to the accused. If they take his legs away... the accused cannot stand up for himself."
Nel said prison officials were professional people who knew how to deal with people with disabilities.
He asked Vergeer why she did not trust prison officials.
She said Pistorius needed to be looked at on his personal circumstances.

Pistorius shot Steenkamp through the locked door of the toilet, apparently thinking she was an intruder about to emerge and attack him. She was hit in the hip, arm, and head.
Vergeer said that she did not make recommendations but only compiled reports.
She earlier presented her report on Pistorius, which the defence had paid her to compile, to the court. In it she recommended that Pistorius get three years of correctional supervision and community service for killing Steenkamp.
Pistorius was also found guilty of firing a pistol under a table at Tasha's restaurant in Johannesburg in January 2013 and not guilty of shooting through the open sunroof of a car in Modderfontein on September 30, 2012.
The case was adjourned to Wednesday morning.

A prison will not be able to secure Oscar Pistorius's safety, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.
"My opinion is that the accused is vulnerable [in prison]. They cannot eliminate his vulnerability and they cannot secure his safety," Annette Vergeer said under cross-examination from prosecutor Gerrie Nel.
"That can be a great danger to the accused. If they take his legs away... the accused cannot stand up for himself."
Nel said prison officials were professional people who knew how to deal with people with disabilities.
He asked Vergeer why she did not trust prison officials.
She said Pistorius needed to be looked at on his personal circumstances.
