Im having this "problem".
When i use my laptop with the vodacom data card i have to change the smtp settings to the vodacom setings. When back in the office using the telkom account i have to change the smtp settings to telkom`s settings in order to send emails.

Is there a way i can send emails without having to change the smtp settings everytime regardless of the connection im using?

Yes, route your e-mail through a Gmail account... and use Google's SMTP servers.
Added bonus, you get all your e-mail backed up online.

Vodacom only allow customers with Vodacom assigned IP addresses to use their SMTP server.
and
Telkom only allow customers with Telkom assigned IP addresses to use their SMTP server.

If a SMTP server allows customers from other networks to send email then it's called "relaying".
Relaying is a huge problem on The Net.
Spammers search for and use "open relay" SMTP servers to send their rubbish.

To use Google SMTP go here: http://lifehacker.com/#!111166/how-to-use-gmail-as-your-smtp-server

go to your email account setting.

select the account you wish to change.

towards the bottom right of the screen the pops out there is a more settings tab. select the tab

another screen appears. select outgoing server(s)

there is a tick box next to require password confirmation. tick the box & save. as you exit out accept any save/apply buttons.

make sure that your smtp settings are those of the ISP/domain that hosts the email.

after that your mail should send with no problem.

I'm posting from my cell now. For more detailed steps please PM me & I'll provide a clear guide when I'm at my PC tomorrow.
