I saw the billboard with this promotion, that if they do not beat your current premium, they will pay you R400.
So I entered all the details on the website and the agent called me.
Went through the whole spiel and eventually got a qoute at least 3 times my current premium, then the guys says, but you already got a payment of R200 previously on this promotion.
So I said that was a year ago and this is a new promo, but apparently not and I just wasted 30 mins :(
Also, the promo says T&C apply, but there is no where that I can see what the T&Cs are ... very dodgy for a supposedly reputable company!!

So a warning to all others that got the R200 ... do not waste your time!!

I wouldn't touch Outsurance with a long wooden stick.

They can keep their money, noway I'm giving them any of my details.

I did not think they would be able to beat the quote ... but where else would you get aid R400 for 30 mins??

I dislike that company with a passion. I wouldn't give them any of my details ... for R400 or R4000.

And be carefull about being cheaper. They catch you when you claim.. small details that you didn't "specify" and then you don't get your claim.

I rather pay the R100 more per month and trust my insurance broker.

Humberto says, gimmicky insurance is best avoided, go with Santam, who despite being a bit costlier, will deliver when you need them.

Santam and Hollard are the best dude. Outsurance are the biggest skelms out there.

this post was not about converting to outsurance ... but rather more about the slimey tactics in getting you to quote in the hopes of getting R400,if they do not beat your current premium, and even when they are 3 times more costly, they then come out with an excuse about why they cannot pay the R400. Also, there are supposed Terms and conditions that apply, but nowhere can you find this on their site!!

btw .. with PPS and they very good considering you pay mostly half of what other insurers want

I did the same beginning of year and didn't even get paid the R200..

... trying to get a quick R400 by pretending you're a genuine prospect? Astonishing that you think they're a rip-off. The truth is much closer to home, methinks.

well they made the offer ... if they were indeed cheaper .. then I would obviously consider ... but they have never been!!
so the expectation was to get R400 or a better price .... y would any1 not take that??
sorry, we not all as rich as you, to turn away R400 or at least save a bit on our insurances!!

How desperate can you be for R400?

how much do u make in an hour??
I bet most people do not make that in an hour, so why would u not take up this offer, is a clear indicator that most are not really aware of the value of money!!

Here's the T&Cs,

https://www.outsurance.co.za/adx/aspx/adxGetMedia.aspx?DN=c4262771-7d2b-42a2-884d-eced75537cc4

they clearly state they won't make more than one payment to the same person for any promotion that are similar to this.
We will not make more than o ne p ayment t o a person t hat
completes mul ple individual quotes on the same or on separate
cars for which we are more expensive than the current insurance
premium. Payments to separate members of the same family will
be allowed provided the condi ons of this promo on are met.

So there you go.

Anyway when you deal with outsurance, always make sure they are including VAT in their quotes. They love to give you numbers excluding vat, and then when you get the policy document you suddenly see the vat being added.

Maybe you must locate those Ts & Cs and see what they see. Otherwise you could just keep quoting and collecting free money every so often. I see no rip off.
