Morning Guys,

Please advice here, I signed a new contract to start on the first of August. This was more of an Increase to say. Now I just checked my balance and I was paid twice. One was my Previous Salary and the next one is my new salary.

Did I get some bonus which someone forgot to tell me about?

I think there is a problem somewhere in the system and they will want their Monies back. What is the policy with regards to this type of Incidence.

Do I call HR and tell them what they done or do I wait for them to call me. Has this happened to anyone before?

I don't want to be without a salary next month.

Rather be up front about it than try hope they don't notice.

Might not look to good if they see their mistake and think you tried to take advantage of situation.

Honesty is the best policy :p

That is very strange, same thing happened to me this morning.

We have staff meeting later this morning, maybe they announce that it was a surprise bonus!

:

Are you sure it's not your leave pay from the previous contract?

Hmm, suppose if it's a contract then you don't get leave.

Either way, just check with them, if it's a mistake it's still there money and they can get it back.

This happened to me once before, I brought it up with my director and he said that they'll deduct it from my next month's salary...which they never did...free money :D :D

I tried calling HR but they are probably dealing with the same issue from other People, One lady had this happen to her on this company and she said that they made an arrangement with her to deduct the money from her account each month, Something like R 2000.00 or some agreement like that at no interest. She however mentioned that they cannot take all the money at once.

I also tried calling my boss for an explanation who is not there. The cash will come in handy as I am moving into a house next week.:D

Legally they can make you pay it all back.

Probably a stuff-up at the bank. Standard bank especially is having issues since last week Friday.... we made an EFT payment and the recipient ended up getting paid double

Damn.. how do companies stay afloat when they're that reckless with their cashflow?

The Lady at HR was very rude when she received my new contract. she asked me for my banking details which when I asked her why would she need that when the company has been paying me for the last 10 Months, She told me that I am now being paid by a different company but doing the same job.

My thinking is that she never deleted my previous details as I received my old pay and my new one.

I don't mind at all paying back the money, "Which will be done..." But I would not mind the extra cash this month:D.

I just dont want to have a bad name with HR. I guess I will keep trying until I get someone relevant to assist.

play stupid and said you didn't notice IF they ask (especially because she's a rude bitch)

the bank has made a fault in your favor.. live with it (bank being company but you know what I mean)

My father was paid double a few months ago, didn't work out too well.

Honesty is the best policy

Do the right thing, draw the money and burn it (set alight) - that would cancel it all out, trust me.
